CAT PROGRAMS:THE CAT PROGRAM INCLUDES ADOPTION, FOSTER HOMES, MEDICAL CARE AND KITTY CORNER (DESCRIBED IN MORE DETAIL BELOW) AND REPRESENTS NEARLY HALF OF THE ORGANIZATION'S PROGRAM EXPENSES; 256 CATS FOUND THEIR FOREVER HOMES DURING 2021.KITTY CORNER IS OUR POPULAR ON-SITE, FREE ROAM CAT SHELTER WHERE POTENTIAL ADOPTERS CAN SPEND TIME WITH THE CATS IN A RELAXED, LIVING ROOM-LIKE ENVIRONMENT AND FIND THE CAT THAT BEST SUITS THEIR LIFESTYLE.THESE CATS ARE ABLE TO FREE-ROAM THROUGHOUT KITTY CORNER AT ALL TIMES, LOUNGING IN THE SUN AND SPRAWLING OUT ON COMFY BEDS, CAT TOWERS, CHAIRS AND PERCHES.
SPAY/NEUTER ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (SNAP)THE ORGANIZATION IS PLEASED TO OFFER THIS ESSENTIAL PROGRAM LOW-INCOME RESIDENTS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TOWARD THE SPAYING AND NEUTERING OF THEIR COMPANION CATS AND DOGS. DURING 2021, 153 VOUCHERS WERE PROVIDED FOR CAT AND DOG SPAY/NEUTER PROCEDURES AND 110 DOGS WERE SPAYED/NEUTERED AT OUR SNAP CLINIC.
SPECIAL NEEDS MEDICAL:AS ORIGINATED BY A VERY SPECIAL FOSTER GRADUATE NAMED PHINNY, THE SPECIAL NEEDS MEDICAL FUND IS A SEPARATE PROGRAM THAT ENABLES THE ORGANIZATION TO PROVIDE IN-NEED DOGS AND CATS THE ABILITY TO RECEIVE THE SPECIALTY CARE NECESSARY TO LEAD FULFILLING, NORMAL LIVES.
