PROVIDES VOTER AND CIVIC EDUCATION ACTIVITIES. WE ARE A NONPARTISAN EDUCATIONAL ORGANIZATION WHICH BUILDS PARTICIPATION IN THE DEMOCRATIC PROCESS, STUDIES KEY COMMUNITY ISSUES AT ALL GOVERNMENT LEVELS.

COMMUNITY EDUCATION - COMMUNITY EDUCATION IS AN AGGREGATE PROGRAM AREA FOCUSED ON PROVIDING NON-PARTISAN, IN-LANGUAGE, COMMUNITY REVIEWED, PLAIN LANGUAGE VOTING INFORMATION TO CALIFORNIANS, AND INCREASING VOTER TURNOUT IN HISTORICALLY LOW PROPENSITY VOTING GROUPS. THE LWVC EF PRODUCED EASY VOTER GUIDE, A NON-PARTISAN PLAIN LANGUAGE, GUIDE TO STATE-LEVEL BALLOT MEASURES THAT IS TRANSLATED INTO 5 LANGUAGES. WE ALSO WORKED IN COALITION TO PRODUCE THE NON-PARTISAN ELECTJUSTICE CA CAMPAIGN, TO EDUCATE VOTERS ABOUT LOCAL OFFICIALS WHO IMPACT THE CRIMINAL LEGAL SYSTEM. WE RAN A DIGITAL GET-OUT-THE-VOTE CAMPAIGN TO ENGAGE YOUTH VOTERS, WHICH REACHED APPROXIMATELY 6,000,000 PEOPLE. WE ALSO RAN A VOTER HELP HOTLINE, CREATED VOTER EDUCATION TOOLKITS FOR LOCAL LEAGUES AND COMMUNITY PARTNERS, AND CREATED NON-PARTISAN PROS/CONS VOTER RESOURCES FOR STATE-LEVEL BALLOT MEASURES.
VOTER'S EDGE - VOTER'S EDGE PROVIDES CALIFORNIANS WITH THE ONLY UNBIASED, NON-PARTISAN ONLINE BALLOT GUIDE TO HELP THEM LEARN ABOUT THE CANDIDATES ON THEIR BALLOT, WHICH INCLUDES CAMPAIGN FINANCE DATA AND THE CANDIDATES' POSITIONS ON THEIR OWN, UNEDITED WORDS. VOTER'S EDGE IS PROVIDED IN ENGLISH AND SPANISH AND WAS USED BY APPROXIMATELY 500,000 VOTERS IN THE PRIMARY ELECTION.
CIVIC INFORMATION VIA FIELD REPORTING (CIVFR) - THIS GRANT-FUNDED PROJECT IS DESIGNED TO PROVIDE LOCAL LEAGUES AND OTHER NON-PROFITS WITH A WAY TO COLLECT, AGGREGATE, AND BENCHMARK DATA ON THE WORK THEY ARE DOING. THIS WILL ALLOW THESE ORGANIZATIONS TO COLLECTIVELY UNDERSTAND THE IMPACT, AS WELL AS MORE POINTEDLY TARGET COMMUNITIES THAT NEED ADDITIONAL SUPPORT, COMMUNICATE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS, INCREASE CIVIC ENGAGEMENT, AND COLLABORATE WITH PARTNERS MORE EFFECTIVELY TO ELIMINATE OVERLAP IN PROGRAM WORK. WE COMPLETED THE PROGRAM SPECIFICATIONS FOR A MINIMUM VIABLE PRODUCT WITH THE LEADERSHIP PLANNING COHORT.
