IS A NONPROFIT CORPORATION, OPERATING PRIMARILY IN ORLEANS PARISH, ORGANIZED TO PROVIDE INFORMATIONAL SUPPORT AND EDUCATIONAL SERVICES TO AREA FAMILIES WHO HAVE FAMILY MEMBERS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS (DISABILITIES) THROUGH ACOORDINATED NETWORK OF RESOURCES, SUPPORT AND SERVICES. THE PRIMARY SOURCE OF REVENUE ARE FROM FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL GRANTS.

DURING THE FISCAL YEAR 2021-2022 WE HAVE ACCOMPLISHED THE FOLLOWING: PROVIDED APPROXIMATELY 2,800 INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES, FAMILY MEMBERS, PROFESSIONALS IN THE FIELDS OF HUMAN SERVICES AND PUBLIC POLICY, AND MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC WITH INFORMATION AND REFERRAL ON AVAILABLE SERVICES AND SUPPORTS. 8,657 PIECES OF INFORMATION WERE REQUESTED AND SENT BY OUR STAFF TO MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY. STAFF ATTENDED IEP MEETINGS WITH FAMILIES AND HELP TO EDUCATE PARENTS ABOUT SPECIAL EDUCATION SERVICES. WE HAVE PROVIDED PRESENTATIONS, WORKSHOPS AND MAJOR CONFERENCES TO THE COMMUNITY.
