TO PROVIDE FOR THE NUTRITIONAL NEEDS OF THE POOR IN OUR COMMUNITY IN THE CONTEXT OF COMPASSION AND AFFIRMATION OF THEIR WORTH AS CHILDREN OF GOD. WE HAVE TWO PROGRAMS A DAILY SOUP KITCHEN AND A TWICE WEEKLY FOOD PANTRY IN THE FORM OF A GROCERY STORE NAMED LOAVES & FISHES

OUR MAIN PROGRAM IS A LOCAL SOUP KITCHEN SERVING A HOT MIDDAY MEAL DAILY (7 DAYS PER WEEK) FROM 10:00AM TILL 11:30AM IN THE ONE STOP CENTER IN BRADENTON. WE SERVED 65,722 MEALS IN 2022. WE ARE A VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATION AND HAVE NO MANAGEMENT OR FUND RAISING EXPENSES. LAST YEAR WE HAD 12,500 VOLUNTEER HOURS . WE HAVE ONLY A SMALL PART TIME PAID STAFF TO RUN THE KITCHEN AND PICKUP FOOD DONATIONS
OUR FOOD PANTRY IS A GROCERY STORE WERE CLIENTS CAN PICK ITEMS THEY WANT, WE ARE OPEN ON MONDAY AND FRIDAYS FROM 8:30AM TILL 11:00AM FOR FREE SHOPPING FOR RESIDENCE OF MANATEE COUNTY. OUT STORE HAS CANNED FOODS, PACKAGE ITEMS, FRESH PRODUCE AND FROZEN MEATS. WE HAD 9,412 SHOPPERS WITH 24,839 FAMILY MEMBERS BENEFITING FROM THIS PROGRAM LAST YEAR. WE HANDLE OVER A MILLION POUNDS OF FOOD LAST YEAR FOR BOTH PROGRAMS.
