THE USA IBC IS A TWO WEEK "OLYMPIC STYLE" COMPETITION WHERE TOMMORROW'S BALLET STARS VIE FOR GOLD, SILVER AND BRONZE MEDALS, CASH AWARDS, SCHOLARSHIPS AND JOBS. THE COMPETITION IS A STEPPING STONE TO A DANCER'S CAREER. DURING 2021 (YEAR ENDING 9/30/21) THE IBC IS PROMOTING ITSELF AND RECRUITING COMPETITORS, JURORS, DANCE SCHOOL STUDENTS, AND FACULTY IN PREPARATION FOR THE 2023 COMPETITION
CITYDANCE IS AN AFTER SCHOOL DANCE PROGRAM SPONSORED BY THE USA INTERNATIONAL BALLET COMPETITION. CITYDANCE PROVIDES FREE BALLET CLASSES FOR CHILDREN 7 YEARS OLD TO 12 YEARS OLD THAT ARE ALSO ENROLLED IN THE JACKSON PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM. PARTICIPANTS ARE SELECTED THROUGH AN AUDITION PROCESS HELD EACH SEPTEMBER. EACH YEAR CITYDANCE ADDS ANOTHER CLASS OF BEGINNERS TO THE PROGRAM AS SKILL LEVELS BUILD.
FRIENDS OF THE USA IBC IS AN ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP GROUP WITHIN THE INTERNATIONAL BALLET ASSOCIATION. AS VOLUNTEERS, FRIENDS SUPPORT THE USA IBCS EVERYDAY NEEDS AND SPECIAL PROJECTS. THEY PLAN FUNDRAISING AND FRIENDS MEMBERSHIP EVENTS, SERVE ON COMPETITION WORK COMMITTEES, ASSIST WITH THE PUBLIC SCHOOL CITYDANCE PROGRAM (HELPING WITH AUDITIONS, DANCE WEAR PURCHASES AND RECITALS) AND ARE LOCAL AND NATIONAL ADVOCATES FOR THE USA IBC. MEMBERS (AND FUTURE MEMBERS) GATHER AT LEAST TWICE A YEAR, ONCE AT A MEMBERSHIP EVENT AND ONCE AT A FUNDRAISING EVENT.
