HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF SOUTHWEST ALABAMA'S MISSION IS TO HELP ERADICATE SUBSTANDARD HOUSING AND TO HAVE A WORLD WHERE EVERYONE HAS A DECENT PLACE TO LIVE. HABITAT WORKS TOWARD THIS MISSION BY BUILDING STRENGTH, STABILITY AND SELF-RELIANCE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH FAMILIES IN NEED OF DECENT AND AFFORDABLE HOUSING.

HABITAT SOLD SAFE, AFFORDABLE, AND DECENT HOMES TO LOW INCOME FAMILIES IN THE COMMUNITY. HABITAT BUILT NEW CONSTRUCTION HOMES AS WELL AS REHABBING PRE-EXISTING HOMES. ALL NEW CONSTRUCTION HOMES WERE BUILT TO IBS FORTIFIED STANDARD. HABITAT USED VOLUNTEER LABOR TO HELP COMPLETE THESE PROJECTS. IN ADDITION, HABITAT PROVIDES MAINTENANCE AND FINANCIAL CLASSES FOR PARTNER FAMILIES. HABITAT PROVIDED CRITICAL HOME REPAIRS FOR OWNER-OCCUPIED HOMES OF LOW-INCOME FAMILIES IN THE COMMUNITY.
THE RESTORE IS A DISCOUNT HOME IMPROVEMENT CENTER THAT SELLS NEW AND USED HOME IMPROVEMENT ITEMS TO THE PUBLIC AND THESE FUNDS ARE USED TO PROVIDE AFFORDABLE HOUSING SOLUTIONS. IN ADDITION, THE RESTORE FURTHERS THE HABITAT MISSION BY ALLOWING FAMILIES WHO DO NOT HAVE THE FUNDS TO AFFORD TYPICAL REHAB OPPORTUNITIES FIX UP THEIR HOMES. RESTORE ALSO HAS AN ENVIRONMENTAL COMPONENT BY KEEPING ITEMS THAT WOULD TYPICALLY END UP IN A LANDFILL AND HAVING THEM BE REUSED.
HABITAT MADE CONTRIBUTIONS OF LAND, HOUSING, AND GIFTS IN KIND TO A SUBSIDIARY, PARTNERSHIP HOUSING (A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION), THAT ALLOWED PARTNERSHIP HOUSING TO PROVIDE RENTAL HOUSING TO NEEDY FAMILIES IN ACCORDANCE WITH ITS MISSION.
