AMSERV IS OWNED AND OPERATED BY CAHABA VALLEY HEALTH SERVICES, INC. WHICH PROVIDES EMERGENCY MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION FOR PATIENTS IN BIBB COUNTY AND SURROUNDING AREAS. THESE AREAS ARE DESIGNATED AS A MEDICALLY UNDERSERVED RURAL DISTRICT. ADDITIONALLY, AMSERV CONTINUES TO PROVIDE A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF MEDICAL RESCUE SUPPORT TO THE AREA DUE TO THE LACK OF AVAILABILITY OF FIRST RESPONDERS; AS A RESULT CURRENTLY OVER 50% OF THE COUNTY HAS NO FIRST RESPONDER AVAILABLE FOR ASSISTANCE. OTHER CHARITABLE SERVICES PROVIDED TO THE COMMUNITY BY AMSERV INCLUDE OFFERING MEDICAL SUPPLIES TO VARIOUS NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS THAT PROVIDE FIRST RESPONDER CARE IN OUR EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE DISTRICT. FURTHERMORE, AMSERV PROVIDES PRECEPTORSHIP FOR STUDENTS AT THE STATE FIRE COLLEGE AND THE LOCAL BIBB COUNTY CAREER ACADEMY. OTHER IN-KIND SERVICES PROVIDED TO THE COMMUNITY INCLUDE STAND BY TIME FOR THE BIBB COUNTY SCHOOL SYSTEM, BIBB COUNTY STATE PRISON, BIBB COUNTY JAIL, AND BIBB COUNTY FORESTRY SERVICES.
THE ORGANIZATION OWNS AND MANAGES HEALTHCARE FACILITIES IN RURAL ALABAMA AREAS; IN ADDITION, THE ORGANIZATION SUCCESSFULLY MANAGES AN INDEPENDENT RURAL HOSPITAL, SKILLED NURSING FACILITY, RURAL HEALTH CLINIC, AND SENIOR LIVING IN BIBB COUNTY, ALABAMA.
