SOUTHWINGS PROVIDES AN UNMATCHED AERIAL PERSPECTIVE OF THE CHALLENGES - AND SOLUTIONS - TO PROTECT AND RESTORE THE FORESTS, RIVERS, COASTLINES, AND WETLANDS OF THE SOUTHEAST. THE GULF COAST, THE SOUTHERN APPALACHIAN MOUNTAINS TO THE ATLANTIC COASTAL ZONE, AND THE SOUTHERN CHESAPEAKE BAY WATERSHED ARE OUR THREE LARGEST PROGRAM AREAS. THANKS TO OUR DEDICATED CORPS OF VOLUNTEER PILOTS, SOUTHWINGS EXPOSES THE BROAD SCALE OF ENVIRONMENTAL THREATS AND INSPIRES ACTIONS TO CONSERVE OUR VITAL ECOSYSTEMS AND THE COMMUNITIES THAT RELY ON THEM. DURING 2022, SOUTHWINGS' VOLUNTEER PILOTS CONDUCTED 102 FLIGHTS THROUGHOUT THE SOUTHEASTERN REGION INCLUDING THE CHESAPEAKE BAY, CARRYING 170 PASSENGERS. SOUTHWINGS' VOLUNTEER PILOTS COLLECTIVELY DONATED MORE THAN 300 HOURS OF FLIGHT TIME IN SUPPORT OF OUR FLIGHT PARTNERS. SOUTHWINGS CONTINUED TO ADAPT TO PANDEMIC-RELATED CHALLENGES BY SHIFTING AT TIMES TO ARRANGING PILOT-ONLY FLIGHTS RATHER THAN OUR TYPICAL PASSENGER-CARRYING MISSIONS.
