PUBLIC POLICY PROGRAMS IN ORDER TO PROTECT & PROMOTE THE AGRICULTURE INDUSTRY THE DYER CO FARM BUREAU THROUGH ITS STRUCTURE OF VOLUNTEER LEADERS SUPPORTS PUBLIC POLICY EFFORTS AT THE LOCAL, STATE & NATIONAL LEVEL. THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH BOTH LEGISLATIVE & REGULATORY MONITORING COMMUNICATIONS WITH MEMBERS & PUBLIC AWARENESS PROGRAMS ABOUT FARMING & RURAL LIFE & PROVIDE INFORMATION ABOUT THE AGRICULTURE INDUSTRY. VOLUNTEER BOARD MEMBERS PARTICIPATE IN THE SPONSORSHIP OF MEET THE CANDIDATE ACTIVITIES & YEARLY POLICY MEETINGS WITH THEIR LEGISLATORS TO EDUCATE THEM ABOUT AG POLICY & HOW THE INDUSTRY IS IMPACTED BY LAWMAKERS.


AGRICULTURE LEADERSHIP ACTIVITIES THE DYER COUNTY FARM BUREAU STRUCTURE OF ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP PROVIDES MANY OPPORTUNITIES FOR MEMBER LEADERS TO KEEP ABREAST OF ISSUES THAT AFFECT AGRICULTURE. LEADERS ATTEND DISTRICT, STATE & NATIONAL CONFERENCES TO NETWORK WITH FARMERS & OTHER AGRICULTURALISTS TO LEARN ABOUT CURRENT ISSUES FACING AGRICULTURE. A HIGHLY DEVELOPED COMMITTEE STRUCTURE PROVIDES LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR MEMBERS THROUGH MEETINGS, REGULAR COMMUNICATIONS, AND AGRICULTURAL ACTIVITIES.


YOUTH LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT DYER COUNTY FARM BUREAU SPONSORS A LARGE GROUP OF YOUNG AGRICULTURALISTS CALLED THE DYER COUNTY YOUNG FARMERS AND RANCHERS. THIS GROUP OF YOUNG FARMERS ARE BEING MOLDED TO HAVE LEADERSHIP ROLES IN AGRICULTURE. THE YOUNG FARMERS AND RANCHERS ALSO HELP OUT WITH FFA AND 4-H EVENTS WITH VOLUNTEER HOURS. THE DYER COUNTY FARM BUREAU ALSO SPONSORS A AGRICULTURE DAY WHERE ABOUT 300 FIFTH GRADE STUDENTS VISIT A FARM AND LEARN THE IMPORTANCE OF AGRICULTURE AND WHERE THEIR FOOD AND FIBER COMES FROM.
