EVERETT RECOVERY CAFE IS A PEER-TO-PEER RECOVERY SUPPORT CENTER WHERE WOMEN AND MEN TRAUMATIZED BY HOMELESSNESS, ADDICTION AND OTHER MENTAL HEALTH CHALLENGES ARE WELCOMED AND COME TO KNOW THEMSELVES AS LOVED WITH GIFTS TO SHARE. THE CAFE WAS FOUNDED ON THE UNDERSTANDING THAT EACH HUMAN BEING IS CHERISHED AND BELOVED REGARDLESS OF PAST TRAUMA, MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL ANGUISH, ADDICTIVE BEHAVIORS OR MISTAKES MADE. WE PROVIDE A BEAUTIFUL, SAFE, WARM, DRUG AND ALCOHOL-FREE SPACE AND A LOVING COMMUNITY IN WHICH TO ANCHOR MEMBERS (CONSUMERS) IN THE SUSTAINED RECOVERY NEEDED TO GAIN AND MAINTAIN HOUSING, SOCIAL AND HEALTH SERVICES, HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS, EDUCATION AND EMPLOYMENT.

OUR PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO HELP PEOPLE MAINTAIN RECOVERY, REDUCE RELAPSE AND FULFILL THEIR POTENTIAL. IMPORTANT ELEMENTS OF THIS WORK INCLUDE: A HEALING MILIEU WITH FREE, NUTRITIOUS MEALS, COFFEE, TEA AND BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS; OPEN MIC NIGHTS; DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT AND A ROBUST DELIVERY OF THE MESSAGE, "YOU MATTER." LOVING ACCOUNTABILITY GROUPS CALLED RECOVERY CIRCLES WHICH ARE ESSENTIAL TO OUR PROGRAM. MEMBERS ARE EXPECTED TO ATTEND A WEEKLY RECOVERY CIRCLE. THEY ARE EXPECTED TO CALL IF THEY ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND. FAILURE TO CALL RESULTS IN THE LOSS OF MEMBERSHIP PRIVILEGES FOR A WEEK. MEMBER EMPOWERMENT, ENRICHMENT AND UTILIZATION: EVERETT RECOVERY CAFE IS COMMITTED TO ENCOURAGING GROWTH AND THE REBUILDING OF MEMBER'S LIVES THROUGH THE POWER OF GIVING BACK. THIS PEER-TO-PEER ASPECT OF RECOVERY SUPPORT IS ONE OF THE MOST POWERFUL PIECES OF EVERETT RECOVERY CAFES SUCCESS. CLASSES ADDRESS THE UNDERLYING CAUSES OF ADDICTION, TEACH COPING SKILLS, DEVELOP KNOWLEDGE, TEACH NEW SKILLS AND BUILD RECOVERY CAPITAL.REFERRAL SERVICES. RECOVERY CAFE HAS RELATIONSHIPS AND PARTNERSHIPS WITH A WIDE NETWORK OF COMPLIMENTARY SERVICE PROVIDERS.IN 2020 WHEN OUR GATHERING SPACE WAS OPEN TO THE COMMUNITY, EVERETT RECOVERY CAFE RECORDED 7,049 INDIVIDUAL RECOVERY VISITS. 5027 ATTENDANCES IN RECOVERY CIRCLES WERE RECORDED, INCLUDING REMOTE PARTICIPATION, FOR THE 2020 YEAR. DURING THE CLOSURE OF OUR GATHERING SPACE DURING THE PANDEMIC, 6,530 SACK LUNCHES WERE HANDED OUT TO ALL WHO CAME TO OUR DOORS. AN INDIVIDUAL RECOVERY VISIT IS ONE PERSON WELCOMED THROUGH OUR DOORS ON A GIVEN DAY FOR SUPPORT, RESOURCES, AND A COMMUNITY OF CARE.
