THE MISSION OF OURSPACE WORLD IS TO COOPERATIVELY EDUCATE, ORGANIZE, AND SUPPORT GROUPS OF EARTH HEALERS AND LAND STEWARDS. WE HELP SYSTEMATICALLY DISADVANTAGED FARMERS, BUILDERS, HEALERS, AND EDUCATORS ATTAIN SOVEREIGNTY AND SUSTAINABILITY THROUGH PARTNERSHIPS AND WISE RESOURCE ACQUISITION AND MANAGEMENT.

TEACH 22: EDUCATION, SKILLS BUILDING, AND TRAINING FOR JOB AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT. OSW'S HISTORICAL MISSION HAS BEEN TO BUILD LEADERSHIP WITHIN THE COMMUNITY BY TEACHING AND TRAINING VALUABLE SKILLS TO INDIVIDUALS IN THE COMMUNITY TO SUPPORT GROWTH OF WHOLE-PERSON HEALTH, SUSTAINABLE HOUSING, EDUCATION. OSW HAS ADDED FARMING, NATURAL BUILDING, AND LAND MANAGEMENT SKILLS TO THIS, AND LAST YEAR TRAINED DOZENS OF PEOPLE IN BASIC FARMING AND ROUGH CARPENTRY LAST YEAR. TO FORMALLY EXTEND OUR EDUCATIONAL SERVICES TO YOUTH, OSW HAS ALSO CREATED TEACH 22: JOURNEYS. JOURNEYS IS DESIGNED TO GIVE STUDENTS A BREAK FROM TECHNOLOGY AND VIRTUAL LEARNING BY GIVING THEM HANDS-ON LEARNING ENRICHMENT IN NATURAL SETTINGS SUCH AS FARMS AND PARKS. THE INITIAL STAGES OF THE PROJECT ARE BEING CONDUCTED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH 5 LOCAL FARMS IN SOUTHERN MARYLAND.
CALABASH: FISCAL SPONSORSHIP. OSW'S FISCAL SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM PROVIDES MANAGEMENT SUPPORT TO MISSION DRIVEN GROUPS ALIGNED WITH OSW'S VISION AND PROGRAM GOALS. OSW MANAGES PROJECT FINANCE AND PROVIDES ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT FOR A VARIETY OF INDIVIDUAL PROJECTS RELATED TO OSW'S MISSION.
TUI: COMMUNITY COOPERATIVE SUPPORT. OSW LAUNCHED A NEW INITIATIVE THIS YEAR IN RESPONSE TO EDUCATIONAL AND COMMUITY NEEDS ARISING FROM THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC. OSW PROVIDED TRAINING AND TECHNICAL SUPPORT TO TEAMS AND GROUPS IN PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY WHO PRIORITIZED WORKING TOGETHER TO FILL NEEDS ARISING FROM CHALLENGES IMPOSED ON COMMUNITIES DUE TO COVID 19 AND OTHER EMERGENT NEEDS.
