L3S LIFE-LONG LEARNING TRAVEL EXPERIENCES ARE THE HEART OF KEEPING MEMBERS CONNECTED. WE OFFER FIVE AMAZING TRIPS EACH YEAR THAT THAT HELP US LIFT OUR CONSCIOUSNESS AND RISE ABOVE THE ROUTINE OF LIFE. THESE EXPERIENCES ARE AWE-INSPIRING SOME ARE EVEN LIFE CHANGING. BY EMPLOYING AND WORKING WITH INSPIRITING NONPROFITS AS PART OF OUR TRAVEL, WE EXPOSE MEMBERS TO FASCINATING EXAMPLES OF WHAT OTHERS ARE DOING AND DIRECT OUR DOLLARS TO WORTHY ORGANIZATIONS. MEMBERS ARE NEVER SOLICITED FOR GIFTS. TRIP PRICES ARE IN ADDITION TO ANNUAL DUES AND INCLUDE HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS, MEALS, AND ACTIVITIES.
ANNUAL CONFERENCE - NOVEMBER 2021 THE ANNUAL CONFERENCES GOAL IS FOR MEMBERS TO BUILD AUTHENTIC CONNECTIONS WITH ONE ANOTHER AND TO DISCOVER UNIQUE RESOURCES TO MAKE THE YEARS AHEAD THE BEST. WE EXPLORE TOPICS MEMBERS CARE ABOUT HOST PROGRAMMING AT NONPROFIT SITES THAT FURTHER OUR COMMITMENT TO GIVING BACK TO OUR COMMUNITIES AND MAKE DONATIONS TO GROUPS INSTEAD OF USING OUR RESOURCES FOR THINGS SUCH AS CENTERPIECES OR WELCOME GIFTS. THIS YEAR L3 VISITED ATLANTA AND WORKED THESE INSPIRING NONPROFITS: GEORGIA STATE UNIVERSITY, GEORGIA AQUARIUM, THE CARTER CENTER, AND PRESIDENTIAL LIBRARY.
NATIONAL PARK LIFE-LONG LEARNING EXPERIENCES - JUNE 2021 IN 2013, L3 DECIDED TO MAKE VISITING AT LEAST ONE NATIONAL PARK EACH YEAR A GOAL. PROGRAMS ARE DESIGNED TO EXPERIENCE THE BEAUTY OF THE PARKS, LEARN ABOUT THEIR HISTORY AND ECOLOGY, AND GIVE BACK TO THE NATIONAL PARKS FOUNDATION AND LOCAL NONPROFITS WORKING ON PARK-RELATED ISSUES. THIS YEAR WE VISITED GRAND TETON AND YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARKS. DOCUMENTARY FILM SYMPOSIUM - OCTOBER 2021 THE DOCUMENTARY FILM SYMPOSIUM IS L3S MOST POPULAR EVENT. A GROUP OF MEMBERS REVIEW AND SELECT DOCUMENTARY FILMS FOR US TO WATCH TOGETHER AT A DIFFERENT LOCATION EACH YEAR. THE FILMS COVER THOUGHT- PROVOKING TOPICS AND HAVE TIES TO NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS. FILMMAKERS AND GUEST PRESENTERS JOIN US FOR CONVERSATIONS. THIS YEAR L3 WENT TO COLORADO SPRINGS TO REVIEW AND DISCUSS MY FATHERS, PRINCES TALE, WHITE EYE, EARTHRISE, WE HAVE REACHED THE MOMENT, AND THE TABLES. ROAD RALLY LIFE-LONG LEARNING EXPERIENCES - AUGUST 2021 THE ROAD RALLY IS A FUN WAY TO GET TO KNOW A PART OF THE COUNTRY. WE MEET WITH LOCAL HISTORIANS AND EXPERTS TO LEARN ABOUT THE AREA WHILE WE FOLLOW CLUES THAT LEAD US TO THE NEXT EXPERIENCE. THIS YEAR WE VISITED NEW YORKS HUDSON RIVER VALLEY FOR A STUDY OF THE REVOLUTIONARY WAR.
