THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF BAGGAGE SYSTEM COMPANIES IS AN ORGANIZATION COMMITTED TO IMPROVING THE AIRPORT/AIRLINE INDUSTRY IN AREAS ASSOCIATED WITH BAGGAGE HANDLING SYSTEMS. THE IABSC INTENDS TO PROVIDE IMPROVEMENTS TO THE INDUSTRY BY PLAYING AN ACTIVE ROLE BY MEANS OF PROVIDING A VOICE TO THE BAGGAGE PROFESSIONALS, EDUCATION, IMPLEMENTING STANDARDS AND WORKING WITH OTHER INDUSTRY LEADERS TO ENSURE THE DEVELOPMENT OF BAGGAGE SYSTEMS THAT WILL PROVIDE ECONOMICAL, SAFE AND SECURE BAGGAGE SYSTEMS FOR THE AIRLINE INDUSTRY AND THE TRAVELING PUBLIC OF THE FUTURE.

THE IABSC IS A TRADE ASSOCIATION REPRESENTING THE LEADING AIRPORT BAGGAGE SYSTEM MANUFACTURERS, CONSULTANTS, DESIGNERS, EDS MANUFACTURERS, CONSTRUCTION COMPANIES, AIRLINES, AIRPORTS, SUPPLIERS OF ALL TIERS AND ASSOCIATES/AFFILIATES WORLDWIDE.AT 12/31/2021 THE IABSC HAD 88 MEMBER COMPANIES CONSISTING OF 390 INDIVIDUAL DELEGATES.
DUE TO THE PANDEMIC, THE IABSC BEGAN HOSTING VIRTUAL MEETINGS BEGINNING IN APRIL 2020 AND WILL CONTINUE HOLDING VIRTUAL MEETINGS THROUGH JULY 2021. BEGINNING IN AUGUST 2021, THE IABSC RETURNED TO HOSTING IN-PERSON MEETINGS. ALL IABSC MEETINGS ARE OPEN TO IABSC MEMBERS AND INDUSTRY COLLEAGUES, THE MEETING SPEAKERS DISCUSS CURRENT EVENTS AND ANSWER QUESTIONS POSED BY ATTENDEES OR SUBMITTED BY INDUSTRY PARTNERS.
THE IABSC HOLDS ITS ANNUAL MEETING THE SECOND THURSDAY OF DECEMBER OF EACH YEAR, FOR INSTALLATION OF MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS, FOR RECEIVING THE ANNUAL REPORTS, AND THE TRANSACTION OF OTHER BUSINESS. THE IABSC IS NOT LIMITED TO HOLDING MEETINGS WITHIN THE CONTIGUOUS UNITED STATES.
DURING THE LAST WEEK IN JANUARY OF EACH YEAR, THE IABSC HOLDS ITS ANNUAL BAGGAGE HANDLING SYSTEM (BHS) SUMMIT ADDRESSING CURRENT ISSUES, SOLUTIONS, TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION IN THE BAGGAGE HANDLING INDUSTRY. THE 2021 SUMMIT WAS A DAY AND A HALF AND WAS HELD VIRTUALLY.BEGINNING IN AUGUST 2021 MONTHLY MEETINGS WERE HELD AT THE EMBASSY SUITES DFW NORTH HOTEL IN GRAPEVINE, TEXAS. THE MARCH THROUGH JULY MEETINGS WERE HELD VIRTUALLY. EACH MEETING FEATURED AN INDUSTRY EXPERT, AIRLINE OR AIRPORT AS A GUEST SPEAKER. THERE IS NO MEETING HELD IN FEBRUARY.
