THE GOAL OF HEALTHY START OF NORTH CENTRAL FLORIDA IS TO REDUCE THE NUMBER OF LOW BIRTHWEIGHT BABIES, AND TO IMPROVE HEALTH AND DEVELOPMENT OUTCOMES.

HEALTHY START IS A FREE PROGRAM THAT PROVIDES SERVICES TO FAMILIES WITH PREGNANT WOMEN, INFANTS AND CHILDREN UP TO AGE 3 WHO ARE AT RISK FOR POOR BIRTH OUTCOMES AND NEED HELP WITH HEALTHY CHILD DEVELOPMENT. SERVICES INCLUDE EDUCATION AND SUPPORT IN CHILDBIRTH, BREASTFEEDING, WOMEN'S HEALTH, PARENTING AND MORE.
MOMCARE PROVIDES OUTREACH SERVICES AND PRENATAL CARE COUNSELING BY TELEPHONE TO WOMEN WHO QUALIFY FOR SOBRA, ALSO KNOWN AS PREGNANCY MEDICAID.
MATERNAL, INFANT AND EARLY CHILDHOOD HOME VISITING (MIECHV) IS A FREE PARENTING PROGRAM THAT WILL HELP PARTICIPANTS TO LEARN ABOUT THEIR CHILD'S DEVELOPMENT, GAIN ONE-ON-ONE PARENTING SUPPORT, CONNECT WITH OTHER PARENTS AND RESOURCES, ADDRESS DEVELOPMENTAL DELAYS AND/OR HEALTH ISSUES.
