DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR, ST. ALBANS SERVED 184 CHILDREN AGES TO 3 TO 5 YEARS OF AGE IN THE FEDERALLY FUNDED HEAD START PROGRAM. FOR THE FEDERALLY FUNDED EARLY HEAD START PROGRAM WE SERVED 94 CHILDREN AGES TO 3 YEARS OF AGE
THE VOLUNTARY PRE-KINDERGARDENVPK ST. ALBANS PROVIDES FOR 4 YEAR OLD CHILDREN WHO WILL ENTER KINDERGARDEN THE FOLLOWING SCHOOL YEAR. THE VPK PROGRAM UTILIZE HIGH SCOPE CURRICULUM AND KEY DEVELOPMENT INDICATORS IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE STATE FUNDED SCHOOL READINESS PROGRAM. THE OUTCOMES FOR BOTH PROGRAMS MEET LOCAL, STATE AND FEDERAL STANDARDS FOR KINDERGARTEN READINESS. ST ALBANS SCHOOL READINESS PROGRAM SERVES CHILDREN AGES TO 5 YEARS OLD BY PROVIDING A SAFE AND NURTURING ENVIRONMENT FOR CHILDREN TO DEVELOP AND THRIVE
