EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE TO THE PEOPLE OF FORT MEADE, FLORIDA AREA WITH FOOD, CLOTHING, HOUSEHOLD GOODS, SHELTER AND UTILITY ASSISTANCE. PART OF THE FUNDING FOR THIS PROGRAM COMES FROM THE OPERATION OF A THRIFT STORE, WHERE PEOPLE FROM THE COMMUNITY DONATE CLOTHING AND HOUSEHOLD ITEMS FOR THE THRIFT STORE TO SELL OR PROVIDE TO THE NEEDY.
FIRST STEPS TO FINANCIAL STABILITY IS A SAFETY NET PROGRAM OFFERED BY UNITED WAY. IT'S PURPOSE IS TO HELP LOWER-INCOME INDIVIDUALS ACHIEVE FINANCIAL INDEPENDENCE BY EMPOWERING THEM WITH THE TOOLS AND SKILLS NECESSARY TO MAXIMIZE THEIR INCOME AND TO BUILD SAVINGS.
