THE FOUNDATION FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING, INC. FOCUSES ON THE WELFARE OF INDIVIDUALS EIGHTEEN (18) YEARS OF AGE AND OLDER WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES WHO ARE CAPABLE OF LIVING INDEPENDENTLY WITH PROFESSIONAL ASSISTANCE AND GUIDANCE. THE FOUNDATION PROVIDES AN OPPORTUNITY FOR INDIVIDUALS TO LIVE APART FROM THEIR FAMILIES WHILE ENCOURAGING THEM TO OBTAIN THEIR HIGHEST LEVEL OF INDEPENDENCE. THESE OPPORTUNITIES ARE PROVIDED BY PROGRAMMATICALLY OFFERING A COMMUNITY BASED ENVIRONMENT DESIGNED TO ENCHANCE OPPORTUNITIES FOR GROWTH AND MAXIMIZING INDIVIDUALS' STRENGTHS. THE FOUNDATION WAS CREATED TO ASSIST EACH INDIVIDUAL IN LIVING AS INDEPENDENT A LIFESTYLE AS POSSIBLE.

2021 SAW FIL ADD THREE NEW RESIDENTS BRINGING OUR CENSUS TO 59. WE SUCCESSFULLY NAVIGATED THE ONGOING CHALLENGES OF COVID-19 WHILE CONTINUING TO PROVIDE OPTIMAL PROGRAMS AND SERVICES BOTH IN-PERSON AS WELL AS MOVING SOME SERVICES TO A VIRTUAL MODEL WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY IMPROVING OUR RESIDENTS ACUMEN. WE DOUBLED DONATIONS, HELD OUR MOST SUCCESSFUL GIVING TUESDAY EVENT TO DATE, AND UTILIZED A GRANT TO OPEN OUR OWN FITNESS CENTER. FIL HIRED A MANAGER OF ENRICHMENT SERVICES IN ORDER TO PROVIDE ENHANCED PROGRAMS AND SERVICES FOR OUR RESIDENTS. INTERNALLY WE IMPLEMENTED A VARIETY OF POLICIES INTENDED TO CONTINUE IMPROVING OUR PROCESSES AND CONTROLS, INCLUDING THE FORMATION OF A BOARD FINANCE COMMITTEE. FINALLY, FIL HELD THE FIRST STRATEGIC PLANNING PROCESS IN AGENCY HISTORY.
