THE FOUNDATION FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING, INC. FOCUSES ON THE WELFARE OF INDIVIDUALS EIGHTEEN (18) YEARS OF AGE AND OLDER WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES WHO ARE CAPABLE OF LIVING INDEPENDENTLY WITH PROFESSIONAL ASSISTANCE AND GUIDANCE. THE FOUNDATION PROVIDES AN OPPORTUNITY FOR INDIVIDUALS TO LIVE APART FROM THEIR FAMILIES WHILE ENCOURAGING THEM TO OBTAIN THEIR HIGHEST LEVEL OF INDEPENDENCE. THESE OPPORTUNITIES ARE PROVIDED BY PROGRAMMATICALLY OFFERING A COMMUNITY BASED ENVIRONMENT DESIGNED TO ENCHANCE OPPORTUNITIES FOR GROWTH AND MAXIMIZING INDIVIDUALS' STRENGTHS. THE FOUNDATION WAS CREATED TO ASSIST EACH INDIVIDUAL IN LIVING AS INDEPENDENT A LIFESTYLE AS POSSIBLE.

THE FOUNDATION FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING IS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION THAT OFFERS OUR RESIDENTS A FOUNDATION UPON WHICH TO BUILD THEIR INDEPENDENCE. THE FOUNDATION IS THE STAFF, COMMUNITY AND THE SERVICES WE PROVIDE. FIL FOSTERS A RESIDENT CENTERED ENVIRONMENT TO DEVELOP EACH INDIVIDUALS' GREATEST INDEPENDENCE, CONTINUALLY STRIVING TOWARDS A FULL AND BALANCED LIFE. WE ARE POWERED BY 25 EMPLOYEES SERVING AND SUPPORTING 59 RESIDENTS. THERE ARE DIFFERENT COMPONENTS THAT MAKES OUR PROGRAM SUCCESSFUL: RESIDENTIAL SUPPORT SERVICES, ENRICHMENT PROGRAMMING, EMPLOYMENT SERVICES AND HEALTH & WELLNESS. EMPLOYMENT SERVICES - ASSISTS RESIDENTS DEVELOP AND ENHANCE THEIR VOCATIONAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES THAT CAN LEAD TO SUCCESSFUL EMPLOYMENT AND INTEGRATION INTO THE WORKFORCE THROUGH COACHING AND SUPPORTIVE RESOURCES. RESIDENTIAL SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL - EMPOWERS THE RESIDENTS TO LEAD A QUALITY AND INDEPENDENT LIFE BY ASSISTING AND SUPPORTING THEIR GENERAL WELL-BEING AND DAILY LIFE SKILLS. ENRICHMENT PROGRAMMING - PLANS AND ORGANIZES ENGAGING AND DIVERSE ACTIVITIES THAT TAILORS THE INTERESTS AND NEEDS OF THE RESIDENTS WHICH PROMOTES SOCIAL INTERACTION, COMMUNITY AND ENHANCES THEIR QUALITY OF LIFE.HEALTH & WELLNESS - SUPPORTS THE HEALTH AND WELFARE OF THE FIL RESIDENTS BY IMPLEMENTING BEST PRACTICES RELATING TO THEIR GENERAL HEALTH AND WELLNESS CARE AND PHARMACEUTICAL NEEDS.2022 PROGRAM ACCOMPLISHMENTS: -IMPLEMENTED A NEW CASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, ALLEVA, AS OUR NEW RECORD-KEEPING SYSTEM.-LAUNCHED OUR STATE-OF-THE-ART FITNESS CENTER AND IMPROVED OUR FITNESS PROGRAMMING -RAISED OVER 200K IN DONATIONS WHICH FUNDED A BRAND NEW SHUTTLE. -INCREASE IN VOLUNTEER OUTREACH WITH THE RESIDENTS.-READTOPIA - LAUNCHED A SPECIAL EDUCATION TRAINING PROGRAM TO HELP RESIDENTS-KEISER UNIVERSITY INTERNS - FIL TEAMED UP WITH KEISER UNIVERSITY TO HELP RESIDENTS IMPROVE THEIR FINE MOTOR SKILLS, VISUAL PERCEPTUAL SKILLS, COGNITIVE THINKING SKILLS AND SENSORY PROCESSING. -RESIDENT TRIPS - RESTARTED RESIDENT WEEKEND TRIPS WITH A WEEKEND IN TAMPA, FLORIDA-COMMENDED A RESIDENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE WHICH MET EVERY TWO WEEKS WITH A GROUP OF 10 VOLUNTEER RESIDENTS.
