Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
PORCHFEST - PORCHFEST IS OUR LARGEST EVENT AND FUNDRAISER. DESPITE A RAIN DELAY ON THE SATURDAY, STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS SUCCESSFULLY REARRANGED A LARGE PORTION OF THE ORIGINALLY PLANNED EVENT TO MAKE IT A SUCCESS ON THE FOLLOWING DAY. EVEN WITH THE LAST MINUTE REARRANGING OF THE MULTITUDE OF DETAILS, PORCHFEST STILL HAD 15 PERFORMANCES, 21 LOCAL VENDORS, AND 75 VOLUNTEERS.
HOME TOUR - THE HISTORIC SPRINGFIELD TOUR OF HOME AND GARDENS RETURNED IN 2021 AFTER 2020'S CANCELLATION. IMPLEMENTING SEVERAL SAFETY GUIDELINES SUCH AS A HEAVIER FOCUS ON GARDENS, ONE WAY ENTRANCES/EXITS, MANDATORY MASKS AND SANITIZING STATIONS, WE WERE COMFORTABLE PLANNING AND EXECUTING THIS ANNUAL TRADITION FOR THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE. IT WAS A FINANCIAL SUCCESS FOR SPAR WITH OVER 700 ATTENDEES OVER THE TOUR WEEKEND.
ON-GOING COMMUNITY EVENTS - SIMILAR STRATEGIES FOR SAFELY OFFERING PUBLIC EVENTS WERE INCORPORATED FOR OUR COMMUNITY GATHERINGS INCLUDING SOCIAL DISTANCE SQUARES FOR FAMILIES TO SAFELY SOCIAL DISTANCE OUTSIDE AND STILL ENJOY THE MUSIC, THEATER, AND NEIGHBORS. BECAUSE OF THIS, WE WERE STILL ABLE TO OFFER OVER 20 FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC COMMUNITY EVENTS THROUGHOUT 2021.
A COMBINATION OF OTHER EVENTS AND INITIATIVES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR SUPPORT OUR EFFORTS TO ASSIST RESIDENTS AND PROPERTY OWNERS WITH THE CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS PROCESS DESCRIBED BY THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE. THESE EVENTS AND INITIATIVES ALSO HELP MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF A NATIONAL HISTORIC DISTRICT, MAINTENANCE OF HISTORIC ARCHIVES, HISTORIC PROPERTY STABILIZATION, PARKS AND HISTORIC MONUMENTS, COMMERCIAL REVITALIZATION AND MAINTENANCE OF OUR HISTORIC TREE CANOPY.
