MISSION STATEMENT: THE FLORIDA HISTORICAL SOCIETY IS DEDICATED TO PRESERVING FLORIDA'S PAST THROUGH THE COLLECTION AND ARCHIVAL MAINTENANCE OF HISTORICAL DOCUMENTS AND PHOTOGRAPHS, THE PUBLICATION OF SCHOLARLY RESEARCH ON FLORIDA HISTORY, AND EDUCATING THE PUBLIC ABOUT FLORIDA HISTORY THROUGH A VARIETY OF PUBLIC HISTORY PROGRAMS. THE FLORIDA HISTORICAL SOCIETY: PRODUCES THE PRESTIGIOUS FLORIDA HISTORICAL QUARTERLY; BROADCASTS THE POPULAR RADIO PROGRAM FLORIDA FRONTIERS STATEWIDE; PUBLISHED HIGH QUALITY NONFICTION AND FICTIONAL WORKS BASED ON FLORIDA HISTORY; ENABLES IMPORTANT AND MEANINGFUL SCHOLAR AND PUBLIC RESEARCH; PROVIDES ESSENTIAL OUTREACH AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS; AND RAISES AWARENESS OF THE RICH AND DIVERSE HISTORICAL RESOURCES AND STORIES OF FLORIDA.

THE FLORIDA HISTORICAL SOCIETY (FHS) ENABLES IMPORTANT AND MEANINGFUL SCHOLARLY AND PUBLIC RESEARCH, ESSENTIAL OUTREACH AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS, AND RAISES AWARENESS OF THE RICH AND DIVERSE HISTORICAL RESOURCES AND STORIES OF FLORIDA. FHS PRODUCES A VARIETY OF PUBLIC HISTORY PROGRAMS INCLUDING; FLORIDA FRONTIERS, A WEEKLY STATEWIDE RADIO PROGRAM; THE FLORIDA HISTORICAL SOCIETY ARCHEOLOGICAL INSTITUTE AND RELATED PRESENTATIONS; AND THE DISCOVER FLORIDA HISTORY LECTURE SERIES. FHS MANAGES, STAFFS, AND OVERSEES THE FLORIDA HISTORICAL SOCIETY ARCHEOLOGICAL INSTITUTE AND ALL MATTERS RELATED TO THE ROSSETTER HOUSE, PROPERTY AND MUSEUM.


PUBLICATIONS AND PRINTING: THE SOCIETY OPERATES THE FLORIDA HISTORICAL SOCIETY PRESS WHICH PUBLISHES A DIVERSE COLLECTON OF INTERESTING BOOKS, SCHOLARLY RESEARCH PUBLICATIONS AND THE FLORIDA HISTORICAL QUARTERLY.


MANAGE, STAFF, MAINTAIN AND OVERSEE ALL MATTERS RELATED TO THE ROSSETTER HOUSE, PROPERTY AND MUSEUM, AND THE BREVARD MUSEUM OF SCIENCE.
