TO PROVIDE HOUSING AND SUPPORTING SERVICES TO HOMELESS PREGNANT WOMEN AND TEENS, NEW MOTHERS WITH INFANTS, AND FAMILIES EXPERIENCING CRISIS PREGNANCIES.

RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM - LICENSED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES FOR 20 WOMEN AND L8 BABIES, THIS IS A TRANSITIONAL LIVING PROGRAM FOR HOMELESS, PREGNANT OR PARENTING WOMEN. THE GOAL OF THE PROGRAM IS SELF-SUFFICIENCY. THE WOMEN IN THE PROQRAM MUST ATTEND SCHOOL (REGARDLESS OF AQE). EACH IS ASSIGNED A FULL-TIME CASE MANAGER TO CONNECT WITH INDIVIDUALLY-NEEDED SERVICES SUCH AS MEDICAL CARE, EDUCATION, WIC, AND OTHER SERVICES. ALPHA EMPLOYS A PART-TIME LIFE SKILLS EDUCATOR TO WORK WITH EACH GIRL INDIVIDUALLY AND IN GROUPS FOR EVERYTHING FROM BALANCING A CHECKBOOK, MEAL PLANNING, INTERVIEW AND JOB SKILLS, LAUNDRY, CHILDCARE CPR AND FIRST AID. EACH RESIDENT IS ALSO ASSIGNED TO ONE OF TWO FULL TIME COUNSELORS WHO WORK INDIVIDUALLY AND IN GROUPS WITH THE RESIDENTS. AS WELL AS BEING HOMELESS, APPROXIMATELY 90% OF THE RESIDENTS ARE ALSO WORKING WITH ISSUES OF DOMESTIC VIOLANCE AND ABUSE. THE RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM SERVES APPROXIMATELY 45 FAMILIES PER YEAR.
OUTREACH PROGRAM - COMMUNITY OUTREACH IS OPEN 3 DAYS A WEEK. MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY ARE ALLOWED TO COME EVERY 30 DAYS FOR BABY CLOTHES, MATERNITY CLOTHES, FORMULA, BABY FOOD, DIAPERS, AND ANY CRIBS, STROLLERS, AND BABY ITEMS THAT ARE "EXTRA- AND HAVE BEEN DONATED TO ALPHA. ALL ITEMS ARE PROVIDED AT NO CHARGE. ALPHA SERVES APPROXIMATELY 2,000 FAMILIES PER YEAR.
DEEB HORIZONS - AN INDEPENDENT LIVING PROGRAM FOR GRADUATES OF THE RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM. PROGRAM IS AT A SEPARATE LOCATION - FOR 2 MOTHERS AND THEIR CHILDREN. THIS IS THE FINAL STEP IN A RESIDENT TO BECOMING SELF- SUFFICIENT.
