ASPIRE WAS AWARDED ANOTHER YEAR OF A GRANT OPPORTUNITY FROM THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH (FDOH). THIS GRANT IS FUNDED WITH FEDERAL TITLE V FUNDING AND IS AWARDED FOR SEXUAL RISK AVOIDANCE (SRA) EDUCATION, FACILITATED THROUGH RELATIONSHIP EDUCATION CURRICULA. THIS PROGRAM INCLUDES HIGH SCHOOL CLASSROOM EDUCATION FOR YOUTH, PARENTS/SIGNIFICANT ADULTS, MENTORING, AND COMMUNITY AWARENESS SERVICES. ASPIRE EXCEEDED THE FDOH SERVICE REQUIREMENTS, DELIVERING SERVICE TO OVER 1,000 STUDENTS AND OVER 200 PARENTS. ASPIRE HELD OVER 10 MENTORING GROUPS AND PARTICIPATED IN OVER 10 COMMUNITY EVENTS, SATURATING OUR COMMUNITY WITH RISK AVOIDANCE/PRIMARY PREVENTION MESSAGING.
ASPIRE WAS AWARDED A GRANT FROM THE CITRUS COUNTY COMMUNITY CHARITABLE FOUNDATION TO EXPAND PROGRAMMING TO MIDDLE SCHOOL CLASSROOMS. THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES AGE APPROPRIATE RELATIONSHIP EDUCATION, RISK AVOIDANCE CURRICULA. ASPIRE CREATED A SCOPE AND SEQUENCE LESSON PLAN, PRINTED WORKBOOKS, AND SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED PROGRAMMING WITH 800 8TH GRADE STUDENTS.
ASPIRE INCREASED THE QUALITY OF ITS PROGRAMS BY INCLUDING ADDITIONAL PROGRAM SUPPLIES, STUDENT INCENTIVES, CURRICULUM, AND ADDITIONAL FACILITATOR TRAINING EXPENSES.
