FOR NEARLY 40 YEARS, FAFO INC., DBA FINE ARTS FOR OCALA HAS PRODUCED A COMMUNITY ART SHOW FEATURING OVER 200 AREA ARTISTS INCLUDING SEVERAL GRAND MASTER AWARD WINNERS. THIS EVENT IS WELL RESPECTED IN THE SURROUNDING AREA OF MARION COUNTY FLORIDA AND WITH THE SOUTHEASTERN COMMUNITY OF ARTISTS. THE SHOW BOASTS ATTENDANCE OF OVER 12,000 EACH YEAR. THE ANNUAL ART SHOW OF OCALA INCLUDES K-12 STUDENT ART, CREATED IN VARIOUS MEDIA FORMATS, THAT IS SELECTED BY AREA ART TEACHERS TO BE INCLUDED IN A DISPLAY AT THE ANNUAL OCALA ARTS FESTIVAL EACH OCTOBER. STUDENTS RECEIVE AN HONORARIUM AWARD AND THEIR ARTISTIC CREATIONS ARE PROFESSIONALLY FRAMED AND BECOME AN OFFICIAL REGISTERED PART OF THE FINE ARTS FOR OCALA PERMANENT STUDENT COLLECTION. MEMBERSHIP IS OFFERED TO ART ENTHUSIASTS TO SUPPORT AND ATTRACT OTHER ARTISTS. MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS INCLUDE FAFO BUCKS TO SPEND AT THE ART FESTIVAL, AN INVITATION TO EXCLUSIVE EVENTS, AND AN ARTS FESTIVAL POSTER SIGNED BY A FEATURED ARTIST. UNFORTUNATELY DUE TO COVID-19 THE EVENT HAD TO BE CANCELED. TO HELP THE ARTISTS 2 SMALL ARE EXHIBITS WERE HELD INSTEAD.
THE ANNUAL SYMPHONY IS A MOTHER'S DAY EVENT FOR ALL AGES WITH A DELIGHTFUL MIXTURE OF CLASSIC AND POP MUSIC PERFORMED BY THE OCALA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA. FAFO BRINGS THE EXPERIENCE OF LIVE SYMPHONIC MUSIC TO MANY THAT HAVE NEVER HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO ATTEND A SYMPHONY PERFORMANCE BEFORE. THE HIGHLY ANTICIPATED EVENT DRAWS NEARLY 3,000 ATTENDEES EACH YEAR. UNFORTUNATELY DO TO COIVD-19 RESTRICTIONS THIS EVENT FOR 2020 HAD TO BE CANCELED.
