THE MUSEUM COLLECTS, PRESERVES AND DISPLAYS FINE ART WITH THE GOAL OF HAVING A NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED PERMANENT COLLECTION. THE MUSEUM HAS ALSO HOSTED NUMEROUS ROTATING EXHIBITS, PROVIDES GALLERY TALKS AND RECEPTIONS, MASTER WORKSHOPS AND SPECIAL EVENTS FOR THE COMMUNITY AND STATEWIDE AUDIENCE.
CHILDREN AND ADULT ART CLASSES, WORKSHOPS, AND TEACHERS INSTITUTE FOR VOLUSIA COUNTY AREAS: IN-HOUSE WORKSHOPS IN VARIOUS MEDIA, LECTURES, AND TOURS SERVED 1,616 INDIVIDUALS. AS PART OF ITS OUTREACH PROGRAMMING, THE MUSEUM PROVIDES AN ART TOUR AND MULTIDISCIPLINARY EDUCATION PROGRAM BASED ON THE MUSEUMS PERMANENT LEGENDARY FLORIDA COLLECTION. ALSO, PRE-K STUDENTS IN WEST VOLUSIA HEAD START PROGRAMS PARTICIPATE IN ARTS ON THE GROW, A BILINGUAL ART AND LITERACY PROGRAM. NUMBER OF INDIVIDUALS SERVED THROUGH OUTREACH PROGRAMS TOTALED 541.
