THE YOUNG LEADERSHIP COUNCIL IS A NONPROFIT, NONPARTISAN CIVIC ORGANIZATION CREATED TO DEVELOP LEADERSHIP THROUGH COMMUNITY PROJECTS.

LAFAYETTE SQUARE CONSERVANCY IS AN ALL-VOLUNTEER, NON-PROFIT GROUP DEDICATED TO THE PRESERVATION AND IMPROVEMENT OF DOWNTOWN NEW ORLEANS' PREMIER PARK IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE CITY'S DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND PARKWAYS. WE STRIVE FOR A WELL-USED AND WELL-MAINTAINED PUBLIC PARK WHICH SERVES AS AN URBAN OASIS FOR VISITORS, RESIDENTS AND AREA WORKERS.


WHERE YA' RACK? WORKS TO INSTALL UNIQUE AND SECURE BICYCLE PARKING RACKS THROUGHOUT GREATER NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA TO ENCOURAGE CYCLING AS AN ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY AND HEALTHY TRANSPORTATION OPTION FOR COMMUTING, SHORT TRIPS, AND ERRANDS. RACKS ARE SPONSORED BY CITIZENS, BUSINESSES OR PROPERTY OWNERS AND INSTALLED BY YLC MEMBER-VOLUNTEERS. AT THE END OF 2022, 51 BIKE RACKS HAVE BEEN INSTALLED.


YLC ASSISTS ORGANIZES SERVICE PROJECTS ONCE A MONTH, TO GIVE PARTICIPANTS AN OPPORTUNITY TO GET INVOLVED WITH THE COMMUNITY, MEET FELLOW YLC MEMBERS, AND GIVE BACK THROUGH COMMUNITY SERVICE.


POWER TIES IS A CAREER AWARENESS PROGRAM THAT LINKS PROFESSIONALS FROM VARIOUS OCCUPATIONS WITH MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS AT THE NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA, PUBLIC SCHOOLS: NEW HARMONY HIGH SCHOOL AND SAMUEL GREEN THROUGH A SERIES OF CAREER-ORIENTED WORKSHOPS. THE YLC OPERATES THIS PROGRAM IN COOPERATION WITH FIRSTLINE SCHOOLS. IN 2022, THERE WERE 0 STUDENTS IN THE PROGRAM.
