Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
DURING THE 21-22 FISCAL YEAR, SOUPER BOWL OF CARING WENT THROUGH A GREAT DEAL OF TRANSITION BASED ON SEVERAL FACTORS: COVID-19 RESPONSE, OUR TACKLE HUNGER MAP PROJECT SUCCESS, AND THE NEED TO EXPAND OUR PROGRAM OFFERINGS TO YEAR-ROUND INSTEAD OF FOCUSING ONLY ON A ONCE-A-YEAR EVENT FOR OUR SUCCESS. KEY PROGRAM SUCCESSES: 1. STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP ENGAGEMENT WITH THE NFL ALUMNI, 2. PARTNERSHIP WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON COMPUTER SCIENCE DEPARTMENT TO DEVELOP AND SUBMIT A PROPOSAL FOR NATIONAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION SUPPORT OF A DASHBOARD WHERE INFORMATION FROM OUR TACKLE HUNGER MAP WILL BE USED TO HELP SUPPORT THE NATIONAL FOOD CHARITY NETWORK EVEN MORE THAN OUR PROGRAMS ALREADY DO, 3. CONTINUED PARTICIPATION AND ENGAGEMENT IN TRADITIONAL SOUPER BOWL OF CARING ACTIVITIES AND OVER $5 M REPORTED AS DONATIONS TO THOUSANDS OF LOCAL CHARITIES, 4. A REDEVELOPMENT OF MISSION AND VISION FOR OUR NON-PROFIT AND AN OFFICIAL DBA SIGNALING THE USE OF TACKLE HUNGER IN ADDITION TO SOUPER BOWL OF CARING, AND 5. A NEW BOARD CHAIR AND SEVERAL NEW BOARD MEMBERS WITH AN EYE TO THE FUTURE OF OUR ORGANIZATION. BECAUSE THE MONEY RAISED BY OUR PARTICIPANTS GOES DIRECTLY TO THEIR LOCAL CHARITIES OF CHOICE, THE SOUPER BOWL OF CARING IS DEPENDENT UPON SUSTAINABLE FUNDING FROM MAJOR DONORS, FUNDRAISING EVENTS, INDIVIDUAL DONORS AND GRANTS FOR OUR DAILY OPERATIONS. THIS CONTINUES TO BE ACCOMPLISHED WITH A VERY SMALL STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS.
