OUR MISSION IS TO NURTURE A DIVERSE GROUP OF YOUNG LEADERS THROUGH THE MEANINGFUL WORK OF GROWING FOOD.

CORE LEADERSHIP PROGRAM - 48 YOUNG ADULTS PARTICIPATED IN OUR CORE LEADERSHIP PROGRAM. OVER A 51/2 MONTHS LONG PERIOD, THEY PRACTICED SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE, DEVELOPED COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP SKILLS, LEARNED ABOUT LOCAL AND REGIONAL FOOD SYSTEMS, AND INCREASED FOOD ACCESS FOR LOCAL RESIDENTS AND ORGANIZATIONS. WORKING TOGETHER WITH STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS, THEY GREW AND HARVESTED OVER 34,250 POUNDS OF FRESH PRODUCE FOR LOCAL CONSUMPTION.
ADVANCED LEADERSHIP PROGRAM - 15 YOUNG ADULTS PARTICIPATED IN OUR ADVANCED LEADERSHIP PROGRAM AS CREW LEADERS AND ASSISTANCE CREW LEADERS. OVER A 10-MONTH PERIOD, THEY DEEPENED THEIR FACILITATION SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE OF SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE, COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP, AND FOOD SYSTEMS. THEY ALSO SUCCESSFULLY GUIDED CREW MEMBERS IN OUR CORE LEADERSHIP PROGRAM THROUGH THEIR PROCESSES OF LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT ON THE FARM.
SEED PROJECT - 12 YOUNG ADULTS INCREASED FRESH FOOD ACCESS FOR LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS. THEY GUIDED MEMBERS AND LEADERS OF THE ORGANIZATIONS TO BUILD THEIR OWN RAISED GARDEN BEDS, PLANT THEIR CROPS, MAINTAIN THEIR GARDEN BEDS, AND GATHER THEIR FIRST HARVEST.
