THROUGH THE RECOGNITION OF EXCELLENT TEACHERS, USING THE TEACHER OF THE YEAR PROGRAM, THE FOUNDATION HOPES TO PROMOTE MORALE AND PROFESSIONALISM OF TEACHERS AND PROMOTE TEACHING AS A PROFESSION TO BE CONSIDERED BY STUDENTS ENTERING COLLEGE.
DURING THE YEAR THE FOUNDATION WAS ABLE TO PROVIDE FUNDING TO TEACHERS PROJECTS WHICH COULD NOT HAVE RECEIVED FUNDING THOROUGH THE PUBLIC SCHOOL BUDGET. THE HARVARD FELLOWS PROGRAM WILL ENABLE THE TEACHERS TO DEVELOP EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES WHICH CAN THEN BE SHARED WITH OTHER EDUCATORS IN THE PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM AND ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF EDUCATION THE STUDENTS RECEIVE.
