THE YOUTH ORCHESTRA ASSOCIATION OF GREATER COLUMBUS, INC. SPONSORS AND PROMOTES TWO YOUTH ORCHESTRAS, A STRING ORCHESTRA AND A FULL ORCHESTRA. THE ASSOCIATION PROVIDES AN OPPORTUNITY FOR QUALIFIED STUDENTS TO ENHANCE THEIR MUSICAL EDUCATION AND PERFORMANCE SKILLS. WEEKLY REHEARSALS ARE PROVIDED FOR THE 51 STUDENTS SELECTED FOR THE ORCHESTRA. PROFESSIONAL COACHES ALSO PROVIDE SECTIONALS FOR THE FIRST HOUR OF REHEARSAL FOR APPROXIMATELY TW0-THIRDS OF REHEARSALS. THE ORCHESTRA PERFORMED A HALLOWEEN "SPOOK-TACULAR" CONCERT IN OCTOBER 2021, PARTICIPATED IN THE WHITEWATER ORCHESTRA FESTIVAL IN NOVEMBER 2021, PERFORMED A BENEFIT CONCERT IN COLLABORATION WITH VOICES OF THE VALLEY CHILDREN'S CHORUS AND THE COLUMBUS BALLET IN FEBRUARY 2022 AND HOSTED "ELECTRIFY YOUR STRINGS" CONCERT EVENT WITH MARK WOOD IN APRIL 2022.
