THE MISSION OF THE DAWSON COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE IS CULTIVATING A SUCCESSFUL ECONOMIC ENVIRONMENT AND A DESIRABLE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR OUR BUSINESSES AND COMMUNITY.

PROMOTION OF TOURISM - THROUGH USE OF THE HOTEL/MOTEL TAX REVENUE TO ENCOURAGE TRAVEL TO DAWSON COUNTY AS A DESTINATION FOR BUSINESS AND LEISURE TRAVEL. ADVERTISING IN PRINT MEDIA AS WELL AS FAMILIARIZATION TOURS AND TRAVEL WRITER'S TOURS WERE CONDUCTED. SOCIAL MEDIA WAS ALSO USED TO CREATE AWARENESS OF DAWSON COUNTY AS A TRAVEL DESTINATION. APPROXIMATELY 40 LOCAL TOURISM VENUES BENEFITED IN ADDITION TO LOCAL LODGING, RESTAURANTS, GAS STATIONS, GROCERY STORES AND 140 RETAIL OUTLET STORES AND OTHER INDEPENDENT RETAILERS. ALSO PROMOTED THE LOCAL ARTS CENTER AS WELL AS THE MOUNTAIN MOONSHINE FESTIVAL. THROUGH ALL FORMS OF ADVERTISING, OVER 2 MILLION IMPRESSIONS ARE MADE ON POTENTIAL VISITORS.
MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT - WORK WITH SMALL BUSINESS THROUGH SEMINARS AND WORKSHOPS, PROMOTIONS SUCH AS RIBBON CUTTINGS, NEWSPAPER/NEWSLETTER ARTICLES, BUSINESS AFTER HOURS NETWORKING EVENTS, MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS WITH BUSINESS RELATED SPEAKERS.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT - THE CHAMBER WORKS WITH PROSPECTIVE BUSINESSES AS THEY SEEK ASSISTANCE IN MOVING OR EXPANDING IN DAWSON COUNTY. THE CHAMBER ALSO WORKS WITH THE GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, DAWSON COUNTY DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY, THE CITY OF DAWSONVILLE AND DAWSON COUNTY TO PROMOTE OUR COMMUNITY AS A PREMIER PLACE TO DO WORK, PLAY AND LIVE.
