NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON HEALTH COMMUNICATIONS MARKETING & MEDIA: THE NCHCMM ANNUAL CONFERENCE IS HELD EACH YEAR IN AUGUST. IT IS CONSIDERED TO BE THE PREMIER CONFERENCE FOR PUBLIC HEALTH COMMUNICATIONS, NCHCMM BRINGS TOGETHER PUBLIC HEALTH PROFESSIONALS FROM GOVERNMENTS AND PRIVATE SECTOR, PROVIDING A FORUM FOR DIALOGUE AND LEARNING WITHIN AND ACROSS THESE DISCIPLINES. THE CONFERENCE IS AN EXCELLENT OPPORTUNITY TO MEET WITH COLLEAGUES AND SHAPE THE FUTURE OF HEALTH COMMUNICATION, MARKETING AND MEDIA PRACTICE.
COMMUNICATIONS PROJECTS: COMMUNICATION TOOLKITS- NPHIC MAINTAINED A ONE-STOP REPOSITORY OF TOOLKITS FOCUSED ON THE LEADING PUBLIC HEALTH ISSUES AND CONCERNS FACED BY COMMUNICATORS. MOST OF THE TOOLKITS WERE DEVELOPED BY NPHIC IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE CDC. OTHERS HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED BY STATE HEALTH DEPARTMENTS. THE TOOLKITS CONTAIN A WEALTH OF VITAL COMMUNICATION RESOURCES, INCLUDING FACTS SHEETS, TALKING POINTS, NEWS RELEASES, BROCHURES, PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTS, POSTERS, FLIERS, SOCIAL MEDIA MESSAGES, AND OTHER INFORMATION.
CREDENTIALING PROGRAM: NPHIC AWARDS THE CERTIFIED COMMUNICATOR IN PUBLIC HEALTH CREDENTIAL TO INDIVIDUALS. THEY REPRESENT GOVERNMENT HEALTH AGENCIES, VOLUNTARY HEALTH AGENCIES, ACADEMIA AND THE CORPORATE SECTOR. EACH UNDERGOES A RIGOROUS PORTFOLIO REVIEW COVERING ALL ASPECTS OF THE JOB ANALYSIS DEVELOPED TO ENCOMPASS CORE COMPETENCIES AND RELATED SKILL SETS FOR PUBLIC HEALTH COMMUNICATORS. INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE BEEN CREDENTIALED PRIMARILY SPECIALIZE IN PUBLIC INFORMATION, RISK COMMUNICATION, HEALTH MARKETING AND/OR SOCIAL MEDIA.
