THE MISSION OF THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OF THE MIGHTY EIGHTH AIR FORCE IS TO PRESERVE AND PRESENT THE RICH HISTORY OF THE EIGHTH AIR FORCE SO THAT PRESENT AND FUTURE GENERATIONS GAIN AN UNDERSTANDING AND APPRECIATION OF THE COURAGE, COMMITMENT AND SACRIFICE OF THESE AIRMEN. THE MUSEUM FULFILLS THIS MISSION THROUGH EXHIBITIONS, EDUCATION PROGRAMS FOR ADULTS, FAMILIES AND SCHOOL CHILDREN; AND THROUGH HISTORIAL RESEARCH AND PUBLICATIONS. THE MUSEUM WELCOMED OVER 47,000 VISITORS IN 2021 AS WELL AS OVER 2,500 STUDENT AND CAMP VISITORS.
