THE BUCKHEAD COALITION'S MISSION IS TO ADVOCATE ON BEHALF OF THE COMMUNITY WITHIN THE CITY OF ATLANTA AND METROPOLITAN REGION; TO SUPPORT THE WELL-BEING OF BUCKHEAD'S RESIDENTS, BUSINESSES AND VISITORS; TO CONVENE PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECTOR LEADERS AND PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS; AND TO CONNECT BUCKHEAD TO OTHER AREAS OF THE CITY AND REGION. 2020 FOCUS WAS ON PUBLIC SAFETY DUE TO INCREASE IN CRIMINAL ACTIVITY WITHIN BUCKHEAD, LEADING TO A COLLABORATIVE EFFORT TO CREATE THE BUCKHEAD SECURITY PLAN.

THE BUCKHEAD COALITION WAS ACTIVE THROUGHOUT THE PANDEMIC SUPPORTING AND ASSISTING COMMUNITY AND BUSINESS INTERESTS IMPACTED, INCLUDING PARTICIPATION ON MAYOR BOTTOMS' ADVISORY COUNCIL FOR REOPENING CITY OF ATLANTA [ONGOING], INITIATED THE CREATION OF THE NEW 'BUCKHEAD SECURITY PLAN' THAT INCLUDED 20 PUBLIC SAFETY INITIATIVES AND ACTIONABLE SECURITY STEPS IN SUPPORT OF LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT; ENCOURAGED THE PASSAGE OF NEW AUDIT LEGISLATION TO CURB MISUSE OF LIQUOR LICENSES BY CLUBS POSING AS RESTAURANTS; RESPONDED TO MULTIPLE CITIZEN REQUESTS FOR SERVICES AND INFRASTRUCTURE REPAIRS THROUGHOUT THE COMMUNITY; INITIATED ACTIVITIES TO IDENTIFY ISSUES RELATED TO HOMELESSNESS WITHIN COMMUNITY WITH IMPERATIVE TO DEMONSTRATE LEADERSHIP AND ENGAGEMENT WITH OTHER ORGANIZATIONS;
