Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
PART OF A WORLDWIDE NETWORK THAT TEACHES 500,000 STUDENTS PER YEAR IN 136 COUNTRIES, ALLIANCE FRANCAISE ATLANTA IS THE PREMIER FRENCH LANGUAGE SCHOOL AND CULTURAL CENTER OF THE METRO ATLANTA AREA. WE OFFER PRIVATE AND GROUP CLASSES OF ALL LEVELS OF FRENCH TO INDIVIDUALS AND BUSINESSES, INCLUDING THE CDC, CARE, THE CARTER CENTER AND DELTA AIR LINES. OUR OPERATIONS WERE SIGNIFICANTLY AFFECTED BY COVID-19, WHICH FORCED THE CLOSURE OF IN-PERSON CLASSES AND EVENTS AFTER MARCH 17, 2020. WE MANAGED TO CONTINUE MEETING OUR MISSION BY TRANSFERRING OUR CLASSES AND SOME OF OUR EVENTS INTO AN ONLINE FORMAT. ADULT LANGUAGE CLASSES: THE LANGUAGE SCHOOL HAD APPROXIMATELY 900 STUDENTS REGISTERED IN CLASSES IN 2022 AND OFFERED CLASSES FROM THE BEGINNER TO THE MOST ADVANCED LEVEL, SUCH AS CONVERSATION CLASSES, AS WELL AS SPECIAL WORKSHOPS ON CULTURAL ASPECTS OF FRANCE OR FRANCOPHONE COUNTRIES. THE ALLIANCE FRANAISE ALSO OFFERS CORPORATE AND PRIVATE LANGUAGE CLASSES. OUR BILINGUAL AND PROFESSIONALLY TRAINED INSTRUCTORS FOCUS ON BUILDING STUDENTS' ORAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS, WHILE ALSO TEACHING COMPETENCY IN READING AND WRITING. CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS: THE ALLIANCE FRANCAISE OFFERED PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS. THESE PROGRAMS ENHANCE CHILDREN'S NATURAL ABILITY TO LEARNLANGUAGE BY PROVIDING A STRUCTURED ROUTINE THAT IS BOTH DYNAMIC AND INTERACTIVE.
ALLIANCE FRANAISE OFFERED DIVERSE CULTURAL PROGRAMMING WHICH INCLUDED CINEMA, LIVE THEATRE AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT. WE COLLABORATED WITH EMORY UNIVERSITY, GEORGIA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, THE GOETHE ZENTRUM, THE FRENCH CULTURAL SERVICES-VILLA ALBERTINE AND OTHER PARTNERS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. THE HIGHLIGHTS OF OUR PROGRAMMING INCLUDED THE LAUNCHING, IN MAY 2022, OF THE FIRST EUROPEAN FILM FESTIVAL OF ATLANTA, AN INITIATIVE THAT INVOLVED THE PARTICIPATION OF ELEVEN EUROPEAN CONSULATES AND ATLANTA'S MOST IMPORTANT CINEMATIC THEATRE. WE SPONSORED THE PERFORMANCES OF CLYDE CHABOT DURING THE MONTH OF FRANCOPHONIE (MARCH). IN SEPTEMBER WE CELEBRATED THE OPENING OF THE FRANCO-GERMAN CULTURAL CENTER IN DOWNTOWN ATLANTA. GERMAN, FRENCH, AND AMERICAN DIGNITARIES WERE PRESENT AT THIS IMPORTANT OCCASION.
