THE WORLD IN TRANSITION ONLINE PROJECT: THIS PROJECT IS TAKING THE CENTER'S EXISTING PRINT VERSIONS OF ITS WORLD IN TRANSITION MULTIMEDIA EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS ON SEVEN REGIONS OF THE WORLD AND CONVERTING THEM INTO A DIGITAL FORMAT FOR TODAY'S ELECTRONIC CLASSROOMS. THE ORIGINAL MATERIALS ARE BEING UPDATED AND SIGNIFICANTLY EXPANDED IN THIS PROCESS.BEFORE THIS WORK BEGAN, A STUDY WAS COMMISSIONED BY THE HALLE FOUNDATION TO DETERMINE THE NEED FOR THE WORLD IN TRANSITION MATERIALS TO BE PLACED IN AN ONLINE FORMAT. INPUT FROM THE GEORGIA THE WORLD IN TRANSITION ONLINE PROJECT: DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, PLUS TWELVE COUNTY SOCIAL STUDIES COORDINATORS WAS RECEIVED. BECAUSE NO COMPREHENSIVE ONLINE SOCIAL STUDIES MATERIALS ON WORLD REGIONS EXIST THAT MEET THE GEORGIA STANDARDS OF EXCELLENCE, THE RESULTS WERE OVERWHELMINGLY POSITIVE THAT THE MATERIALS WERE NEEDED AND WOULD BE USED.
