FUTURE LEADERS ACADEMY (FLA) IS A YEAR ROUND PROGRAM OFFERED PRIMARILY TO LOW-INCOME, FIRST GENERATION LATINX HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES IN SARASOTA AND MANATEE COUNTIES TO PROVIDE THEM WITH THE TOOLS NECESSARY TO BUILD A SECONDARY PATH. THIS PROGRAM INCLUDES COLLEGE SELECTION, CAREER EXPLORATION, RESUME BUILDING, ACT/SAT PREPARATION, INTERVIEWING SKILLS, FINANCIAL AID, FAFSA AND SCHOLARSHIPS APPLICATION. IN ADDITION EACH STUDENT IS PAIRED WITH A MENTOR AND A COLLEGE COACH. STUDENTS LEAD HIGH SCHOOL CLUBS IN THEIR OWN HIGH SCHOOLS AND THEY ARE OPEN TO ANY STUDENTS INTERESTED IN BUILDING A POST SECONDARY PATH.
