UNIDOSNOWS MISSION IS TO ELEVATE THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF THE GROWING HISPANIC/LATINO COMMUNITY IN MANATEE AND SARASOTA COUNTIES THROUGH EDUCATION, INTEGRATION, AND CIVIC ENGAGEMENT.

FUTURE LEADERS ACADEMY (FLA) IS A YEAR ROUND PROGRAM OFFERED PRIMARILY TO LOW-INCOME, FIRST GENERATION LATINX HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES IN SARASOTA AND MANATEE COUNTIES TO PROVIDE THEM WITH THE TOOLS NECESSARY TO BUILD A SECONDARY PATH. THIS PROGRAM INCLUDES COLLEGE SELECTION, CAREER EXPLORATION, RESUME BUILDING, ACT/SAT PREPARATION, INTERVIEWING SKILLS, FINANCIAL AID, FAFSA AND SCHOLARSHIPS APPLICATION. IN ADDITION EACH STUDENT IS PAIRED WITH A MENTOR AND A COLLEGE COACH. STUDENTS LEAD HIGH SCHOOL CLUBS IN THEIR OWN HIGH SCHOOLS AND THEY ARE OPEN TO ANY STUDENTS INTERESTED IN BUILDING A POST SECONDARY PATH.

PARENT LEADERSHIP PROGRAM (PL)WHERE PARTICIPANT PARENTS IN SARASOTA AND MANATEE COUNTIES LEARN LIFE SKILLS, COMMUNITY RESOURCES, PARTICIPATE IN ACTIVITIES RELATED TO ART, CULTURE, SCIENCES AND LEARN TOGETHER HOW THE EDUCATION SYSTEM WORKS IN THE UNITED STATES TO SUPPORT THEIR CHILDRENS EDUCATION. PARENT AMBASSADORS ACTIVELY PARTICIPATE IN OUTREACH EFFORTS TO PROVIDE EDUCATION, INFORMATION AND SUPPORT IN THEIR OWN NEIGHBORHOODS ON AREAS RELATED TO HEALTH AND EDUCATIONS. THEY ENCOURAGE OTHER PARENTS TO CONSIDER STARTING A NEW CAREER PATH AND IMPROVE JOB SKILLS.
