OUR MISSION IS TO SUPPORT THE PROFESSIONAL STAFF WHO SERVE GEORGIA'S INDIVIDUALS, FAMILIES, AND CHILDREN. OUR VISION IS STRONGER STAFF FOR A STRONGER GEORGIA. OUR ASSOCIATION IS COMPRISED OF PERSONS WHO WORK IN OR ARE AFFILIATED WITH GEORGIA'S DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES. WE ACCOMPLISH THIS MISSION THROUGH NETWORKING, EDUCATION, AND ADVOCACY.

PROMOTE SOCIAL WELFARE THROUGH EDUCATION FOR HUMAN SERVICE PROFESSIONALS AND COUNTY DFCS BOARD MEMBERS TO IMPROVE THEIR KNOWLEDGE OF AND ABILITY TO SERVE GEORGIA'S MOST VULNERABLE CHILDREN AND FAMILIES.
GPHSA PROVIDED ONE MAJOR AND THREE ADDITIONAL TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES FOR HUMAN SERVICES STAFF. GPHSA DEVELOPED A CAPACITY TO SHARE INFORMATION ON THE IMPACT OF MAJOR BUDGETARY CHANGES ON THE FAMILIES AND CHILDREN SERVED THROUGH PUBLIC HUMAN SERVICES AND SHARED THIS INFORMATION ROUTINELY WITH HUMAN SERVICES STAFF AND WITH BOARD MEMBERS OF 159 COUNTY DEPARTMENTS OF FAMILY AND CHILDREN SERVICES.
PROMOTE SOCIAL WELFARE BY PROVIDING A FORUM FOR THE DISCUSSION OF PROGRAMS AND THE IDENTIFICATION OF IMPROVEMENT STRATEGIES.
