EDUCATIONAL GRANTS: GRANTS WERE GIVEN TO QUALIFIED INSTITUTIONS PROVIDING EDUCATION IN SCHOOLS LOCATED IN DISADVANTAGED AND IMPROVERSED AREAS. THESE GRANTS ARE TARGETED TO LIMITED BUDGET INSTITUTIONS TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE WITH BOOKS, UNIFORMS AND SECURING QUALIFIED TEACHERS.
GRAND LODGE FELLOWSHIP: THIS 501(C)(3) CHARITY WAS SETUP AS A CAMPUS MINISTRY AT EAST TENNESSEE UNIVERSITY HAVING A CO-ED CAMPUS MINISTRY, AN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT OUTREACH, A BUSINESS / SPIRITUAL MENTOR PROGRAM, AND A MONTHLY BUSINESS LUNCHEON. THE LODGE, IS A 7,800 SQUARE FOOT HOME TWO BLOCKS FROM CAMPUS AND PURCHASED FROM A CAMPUS FRATERNITY NO LONGER ON CAMPUS. THESE GRANTS WERE GIVEN TO ASSIST IN THE RENOVATION OF THE MUCH DAMAGED FACILITY AND TO FUND ITS MINISTRY START-UP COST.
BEL-AIRE COMMUNITY PARTNERS IS A 501C3 ORGANIZATION SET UP AS AN INNER CITY MINISTRY SERVICING THE NEEDS OF DISADVANTAGED NEIGHBORHOODS IN GREENVILLE, SC. THEIR ACTIVITIES INCLUDE A YEAR ROUND AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM, A 9 WEEK SUMMER INNER-CITY YOUTH CAMP AND A LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM. THEY ARE GROWING AND NOW HAVE A STAFF OF THREE FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES AND WE COULD NOT BE MORE PROUD TO HELP THEM ACHIEVE THEIR GOALS THROUGH OUR FINANCIAL GRANTS.
GREENVILLE'S HERITAGE PARTNERS (GHP): A 501(C)3 ORGANIZATION SET UP TO PROVIDE HOUSING AND EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE TO LOW INCOME NEIGHBORHOODS IN GREENVILLE, SC. GHP HAS OVER 300 VOLUNTEERS COME EACH SUMMER TO GREENVILLE, SC FROM AROUND THE SOUTHEAST TO ASSIST IN MAKING IMPROVEMENTS IN DISADVANTAGED AND BELOW POVERY LEVEL COMMUNITIES. DURING NON-SUMMER MONTHS, LOCAL VOLUNTEERS FROM CHURCHES AND BUSINESSES COME TO HELP ON THESE ACTIVITIES. NORTH GREENVILLE UNIVERSITY: GRANTS FOR SCHOLARSHIP OF STUDENTS COMING FROM DISADVANTAGED NEIGHBORHOODS TO HELP MAKE SURE THAT THESE KIDS DO NOT DROP OUT OF COLLEGE BECAUSE OF LACK OF FUNDING. NO GRANTS WERE GIVEN IN 2021. NORTH MAIN BEAUTIFICATION EASEMENT: THIS PROJECT IS A STATE REGULATED EASEMENT ALONG A CREEK AND WATERFALL IN DOWNTOWN GREENVILLE SC. THE PROJECT TOOK PREVIOUSILY ABANDON LOTS IN AN OVERGROWN AREA ALONG THE CREEK AND TURNED IT INTO A 990 FOOT BEAUTIFIED NATURE WALKING TRAIL ALOGN THE CREEK FOR THE ENJOYMENT OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC. YMCA ACHIEVEMENT AWARD: EVERY YEAR THE YMCA SELECTS A DESERVING RECIPIENT WHO HAS OVERCOME PHYSICAL CHALLENGES BY DEMONSTRATING A COMMITMENT AND DETERMINATION WORTH OF RECOGNITION. KB CHARITABLE TRUST MAKES A GRANT TO THE YMCA IN THE HONOR OF THAT YEAR'S RECIPIENT OF THE AWARD. THE AWARD AND GRANT IS GIVEN OUT EACH YEAR AT THE ANNUAL YMCA VOLUNTEERS BANQUET.
