SANTA FE COMMUNITY SERVICES HAS BEEN HELPING THE HOMELESS, DRUG USERS AND ANYONE WHO IS IN NEED, THAT WE CAN HELP FOR 18 YEARS. WE PROVIDE COUNSELING, CASE MANAGEMENT, FOOD, CLOTHING AND WITH A CONTRACT THROUGH THE NM DEPARTMNENBT OF HEALTH WE ALSO PROVIDE FOR HARM REDUCTION. THROUGH THIS CONTRACT WE SUPPLY PARAPHERNALIA FOR THOSE WHO USE DRUGS AND WANT TO DO IT SAFELY. WE ALSO GIVE OVERDOSE PREVENTION CLASSES TO TEACH OUR CLIENTS HOW TO USE NARCAN, AND PROVIDE IF FOR FREE.NARCAN SAVES LIVES BY REVERSING AN OVERDOSE WITH A NASAL SPRAY CONTAINING THE LIFE SAVING DRUG. WITH FENTANYL ON THE RISE WE ARE SUPPLYING MORE NARCAN, AS FENTANYL IS MUCH STRONGER THAN HEROIN. WE ARE OPEN 5 DAYS A WEEK AND SEE APPROXIMATELY 25 CLIENTS DAILY. OUR CLIENTS ARE VERY GRATEFUL FOR THIS SERVICE.MOST OF OUR CLIENTS WILL RETURN TO TELL US HOW THEY SAVED A FRIEND, OR STRANGER BY USING THE NARCAN AND COME AND GET A NEW SUPPLY TO CARRY ON THEM IN CASE OF AN OVERDOSE. JUST THIS PAST WEEK WE HAD AN OVERDOSE NEAR OUR SITE AND WE WERE ABLE TO REVERSE THE OVERDOSE. NARCAN SAVES LIVES. HAVING CLEAN PARAPHERNALIA, IN EXCHANGE FOR USED WORKS, HELPS KEEP THE CLIENT AND COMMUNITY SAFE FROM CONTRACTING DISEASE, SUCH AS HIV AND HEPATITIS C AND PREVENTS ABSCESSES. IT KEEPS THE COMMNUNITY SAFER BY KEEPING USED NEEDLES OFF THE STREET.OUR STAFF IS COMPATIONATE, NON JUDGMENTAL AND ALWAYS READY TO HELP. SFCS IS A VALUABLE RESOURCE IN SANTA FE.
