SPI PROVIDED 250,000 PACKETS OF VEGETABLE SEED TO 22 COUNTRIES DURING THE YEAR. THIS IS ENOUGH SEED TO GROW OVER 9 MILLION FRESH VEGTABLE SERVINGS, CONTAINING NUTRIENTS THAT GROW HEALTH MINDS AND BODIES, AND CHANGE THE LIVES OF GARDENERS WORLDWIDE.THESE SHIPMENTS, COMBINED WITH APPROPRIATE LOCAL TRAINING, TOOLS, AND SUPPORT, RESULTED IN GARDENS BENEFITING MORE THAN 131,000 PEOPLE. 97% OF PROGRAM MANAGERS SAID NUTRITION AND INCOME IMPROVED FOR THEIR BENEFICIARY COMMUNITIES AND FAMILIES AS A RESULT OF THE PROGRAM. FOR FAMILIES IN MORE THAN 22 COUNTRIES IMPACTED BY DISASTER, ARMED CONFLICT, CHRONIC STRESS AND POVERTY, THESE GARDENS PROVIDE LIFE-SAVING NUTRITION AND INCOME.IN RESPONSE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, SPI ALSO EXPANDED ITS PROGRAMS TO COLLABORATE WITH PARTNERS WHO SERVE COMMUNITIES IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
