THE NCAAOM SERVED APPROXIMATELY 130 MEMBERS THROUGHOUT 2015. THE ASSOCIATION PROVIDED MANY CONTINUING EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES FOR ITS MEMBERS AND THE ACUPUNCTURE COMMUNITY. THESE INCLUDED TWO FULL WEEKEND EVENTS IN APRIL AND OCTOBER, ANOTHER FULL DAY EVENT IN OCTOBER, AND FOURTEEN SMALLER EVENTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR FOR A TOTAL OF 80 CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS. THE NCAAOM ALSO ENGAGED A WATCHDOG LOBBYIST IN 2015. HE MONITORED BILLS IN THE NC LEGISLATURE THAT WOULD AFFECT THE ACUPUNCTURE PROFESSION AND ATTENDED COMMITTEE MEETINGS IN WHICH ITEMS WERE DISCUSSED THAT COULD POTENTIALLY AFFECT THE ACUPUNCTURE PROFESSION IN THE FUTURE. THE NCAAOM ALSO ORGANIZED "ACUPUNCTURE DAY AT THE LEGISLATURE" IN WHICH ACUPUNCTURISTS PROVIDED FREE SAMPLE TREATMENTS AND EXPLAINED THEIR MEDICINE TO PEOPLE IN THE LEGISLATIVE BUILDING.
