FOUNDED IN 1978, KINDERMOURN PROVIDES SUPPORT FOR PARENTS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THE DEATH OF A CHILD AND CHILDREN GRIEVING THE LOSS OF A FAMILY MEMBER OR FRIEND. THROUGH PROFESSIONALLY LED SUPPORT GROUPS, INDIVIDUAL AND FAMILY COUNSELING SERVICES AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAMS, KINDERMOURN REMAINS DEDICATED TO THE PURPOSES FOR WHICH IT WAS ESTABLISHED: TO OFFER A BRIDGE OF HOPE FOR FAMILIES WHOSE LIVES HAVE BEEN SHATTERED BY THE DEATH OF A LOVED ONE.

GRIEVING CHILDREN AND TEENS PROGRAM: PROFESSIONALLY GUIDED SUPPORT GROUPS, ALONG WITH INDIVIDUAL AND FAMILY COUNSELING OFFER A SAFE PLACE WHERE KIDS CAN SHARE THEIR THOUGHTS, FEELINGS AND EXPERIENCES OF THE GRIEF JOURNEY.
HELPING THE HURT OUTREACH PROGRAM: BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT TO CHILDREN AND TEENS WHO CANNOT ACCESS KINDERMOURN'S IN-HOUSE SUPPORT SERVICES DUE TO ECONOMIC FACTORS OR TRANSPORTATION ISSUES. GRIEF SERVICES, INCLUDING INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING AND SUPPORT GROUPS, ARE OFFERED IN THE CHARLOTTE-MECKLENBURG SCHOOLS AND AREA NEIGHBORHOOD COMMUNITY CENTERS.
GRIEVING PARENTS PROGRAM: PROFESSIONALLY GUIDED SUPPORT GROUPS, ALONG WITH INDIVIDUAL AND FAMILY COUNSELING ARE OFFERED FOR PARENTS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THE DEATH OF A CHILD. SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE REGARDLESS OF THE CAUSE OF DEATH OR AGE OF THE CHILD.
