THE ORGANIZATION'S PURPOSE IS TO CONSERVE AND PROTECT THE NATURAL, HISTORIC, AND CULTURAL RESOURCES OF THE ENO RIVER BASIN. DURING THE YEAR, THE ORGANIZATION WAS IN CONTACT WITH INTERESTED OWNERS OF LAND ALONG THE RIVER AND TRIBUTARY STREAMS, PROVIDING INFORMATION ABOUT LAND AND WATER QUALITY CONSERVATION OPTIONS, AND ACTIVELY WORKING WITH SEVERAL OF THOSE OWNERS TO FINALIZE NEGOTIATIONS TO PERMANENTLY PROTECT THE PROPERTY, AND CLOSING ON TWO CONSERVATION PROJECTS. THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDED PUBLIC INFORMATION AND INVOLVEMENT OPPORTUNITIES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR AND OUTREACH AND EDUCATIONAL EVENTS. THE ORGANIZATION WORKS WITH CLASSROOM TEACHERS TO PROVIDE PROGRAMS ON LOCAL ECOLOGY, ASSISTS ENO RIVER STATE PARK PERSONNEL WITH EDUCATION PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS, ORGANIZES INDEPENDENT EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, AND RUNS A SUMMER SCIENCE EDUCATION CAMP FOR ELEMENTARY AGED CHILDREN AND HOSTS SUMMER OUTDOOR SCIENCE EDUCATION EXPERIENCES FOR MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL AGED TEENS.
