IN 2021-2022, AS THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC EASED AND NORMALCY BEGAN TO RETURN, THE JLA RETURNED TO THE EXECUTION OF OUR MANY PHILANTHROPIC PROJECTS, IN-PERSON GMMS, TRAININGS, AND SOCIAL EVENTS FOR THE LEAGUE YEAR. MONTHLY NONPROFIT SPOTLIGHTS AND SERVICE EVENTS CONTINUED, WITH MEMBERS PRESENTED WITH MULTIPLE WAYS TO SUPPORT VARIOUS COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS THAT FIT WITHIN THEIR COMFORT LEVELS AS COVID LEVELS CHANGED.
TOUCH-A-TRUCK AND VOLUNTEER EXPO BOTH RETURNED SUCCESSFULLY. THE JLA ALSO CONTINUED WITH OUR "BE THE CHANGE CHALLENGE" VIRTUAL 5K/10K AND GRANT GIVING PROGRAM IN 2022 AND PROVIDED GRANTS OF $1,000 TO FIVE LOCAL NONPROFITS: HELPMATE, PROJECT DIGNITY OF WNC, BABIES NEED BOTTOMS, LOVING FOOD RESOURCES, AND READ TO SUCCEED ASHEVILLE/BUNCOMBE COUNTY.
