THE JUNIOR LEAGUE OF ASHEVILLE, IS AN ORGANIZATION OF WOMEN COMMITTED TO PROMOTING VOLUNTARISM, DEVELOPING THE POTENTIAL OF WOMEN, AND IMPROVING OUR COMMUNITY THROUGH ACTION AND LEADERSHIP.

IN 2022-2023, TOUCH-A-TRUCK AND VOLUNTEER EXPO SAW THEIR LARGEST EVENT ATTENDANCE, 1300 AND 250 RESPECTIVELY. THE JLA WORKED TO STRENGTHEN RELATIONSHIPS WITHIN OUR COMMUNITY BY WORKING WITH 4 NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS OVER THE COURSE OF THE YEAR TO PROVIDE EDUCATION TO MEMBERS BY HOSTING THE NONPROFIT AT A GMM, SERVICE HOURS COMPLETED BY MEMBERS AND A DONATION MADE TO THE ORGANIZATION TO BE USED AS THEY NEEDED. NONPROFIT PARTNERS INCLUDED HOPE CHEST FOR WOMEN, AURORA HOME WOMEN VETERANS, YMI CULTURAL CENTER, GIRLS ON THE RUN OF WNC. JLA ALSO PROVIDED A THANK YOU GOODIE BAG TO OVER 200 BUNCOMBE COUNTY SOCIAL WORKERS AS PART OF SOCIAL WORKER APPRECIATION MONTH. THE BE THE CHANGE CHALLENGE MOVED FROM A VIRTUAL EVENT TO AN IN-PERSON EVENT (WITH A VIRTUAL OPTION).
