THE ALCOHOL/DRUG COUNCIL OF NORTH CAROLINA IS A STATEWIDE AGENCY COMMITTED TO REDUCING THE PREVALENCE OF ALCOHOL, DRUG ABUSE, AND CHEMICAL DEPENDENCY IN NORTH CAROLINA THROUGH THE PROVISION OF PUBLIC EDUCATION, INFORMATION AND REFERRAL SERVICES. IT PROVIDES THE NORTH CAROLINA ADDICTION HOTLINE LINK TO FEDERAL SUBSTANCE ABUSE MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES ADMINISTRATION, THE STATEWIDE CHAPTER FOR THE NATIONAL COUNCIL ON ALCOHOLISM AND DRUG DEPENDENCE AND IS SUPPORTED BY SEVERAL CHAPTERS OF THE UNITED WAY TO SERVE PEOPLE IN THEIR COUNTIES.
