OPERATION OF RESTORES SELLING DONATED ITEMS INCLUDING CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS, HOME FURNISHINGS, APPLIANCES, AND OTHER HOUSEHOLD ITEMS.

THE ORGANIZATION BUILDS SIMPLE, DECENT HOUSES USING MODERN CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES USING VOLUNTEER AND PAID LABOR. THESE HOUSES ARE SOLD TO APPROVED HOMEBUYERS WHO COMPLETE AN 18-WEEK EDUCATION PROGRAM AND WHO INVEST AT LEAST 250 HOURS IN SWEAT-EQUITY BUILDING THEIR OWN HOME. THE ORGANIZATION FINANCES THE HOUSES IT SELLS WITH NON-INTEREST BEARING MORTGAGES; THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE FAIR-MARKET VALUE AND THE MORTGAGE IS EXPENSED. ADDITIONAL REVENUE IS GEENRATED BY ITS TWO RESTORE RETAIL STORES THAT SELL DONATED HOUSEHOLD ITEMS.
