UNITED WAY PROVIDES A COMPREHENSIVE COMMUNITY FOCUS ON PROVIDING MUCH-NEEDED SUPPORT TO COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS, MANY OF WHICH COULD NOT MAINTAIN THEIR PUBLIC SERVICE EFFORTS WITHOUT THE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AND LEADERSHIP EXAMPLE THEY RECEIVE AS A SUPPORTED AGENCY. UNITED WAY ALSO PROVIDES A MEANS OF COMMUNICATION SO THAT THE GENERAL PUBLIC, THROUGH ITS DONATIONS AND SPECIFICATIONS, VOICES AN OPINION ON THOSE PROGRAMS AND ORGANIZATIONS WHICH ARE IMPORTANT TO A PARTICULAR COMMUNITY.
