TO PROUDLY SERVE THE CITIZENS OF THE TOWN OF BLACKSTONE,VA,SURROUNDING TOWNS AND COUNTIES WITH FIRE-RESCUE,EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE AND HAZ-MAT EMERGENCY REPONSE.

Part 3 - Line 4a
COMMUNITY EVENTS INCLUDE THE ANNUAL OPEN HOUSE WHICH PROVIDS PUBLIC EDUCATION ON FIRE PREVENTION AND AWARENESS. FAMILIES ARE ENCOURAGED TO BRING THEIR CHILDREN. THE CHILDREN LEARN FIRE REVENTION AND GET TO SIT IN THE FIRE ENGINES, USE THE FIRE HOSES AND TALK WITH THE JUNIOR AND SENIOR FIREMEN. THE FIRE TRUCKS ARE PART OF THE ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARADE, TOWN ACTIVITES ARE HELD AT THE FIRE STATION AND THE FIRE STATION MEETING ROOM AND KITCHEN IS OPEN FOR USE BY THE COMMUNITY.
CONFERENCE ARE ATTENDED BY A SELECTED GROUP OF VOLUNTEERS WHO BRING BACK INFORMATION AND SHARE WITH THE OTHER FIRE FIGHTERS; TRAINING AND EDUCATION EVENTS ARE ATTENDED THROUGHOUT THE YEAR AND THE ANNUAL AWARDS BANQUET IS HELD TO RECOGNIZE THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF THE MEMBERS,JUNIOR MEMBERS AND THE WORK DONE BY THE AUXILIARY. NEW UNIFORMS ARE GIVEN TO VARIOUS VOLUNTEERS AND NEW EQUIPMENT IS ASSIGNED.
THE FIRE DEPARTMENT HAS A WEBSITE THAT LIST THE FIRE BURNING LAWS DURING THE YEAR, LIST EVENTS THAT ARE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC TO ATTEND, PRINT AND DISTRIBUTE HANDOUTS ON THE VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT, ADVERTISE IN THE LOCAL PAPER EVENTS HELD AT THE FIRE STATION; SEND THANK YOU AND CONTRIBUTION RECOGNITION AWKNOWLEDGEMENTS.
THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT CONTRIBUTES TO THE FIRE DEPARTMENT FOR VARIOUS CONFERENCES, MEETINGS AND TRAINING EVENTS THEY ATTEND ALONG WITH RECONITIATION AWARDS TO VOLUNTEERS AND PURCHASING OF NEW FIRE EQUIPMENT.
