PROUDLY SERVE THE CITIZENS OF THE TOWN OF BLACKSTONE, VIRGINIA AND SURROUNDING NOTTOWAY COUNTY WITH FIRE RESCUE, EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE AND HAZ-MAT EMERGENCY RESPONSE.

COMMUNITY EVENTS INCLUDING THE ANNUAL OPEN HOUSE WHICH PROVIDES PUBLIC EDUCATION ON FIRE PREVENTION AND AWARENESS. FAMILIES ARE ENCOURAGES TO BRING THEIR CHILDREN. THE CHILDREN LEARN FIRE PREVENTION AND GET TO SIT IN THE FIRE ENGINES, USE THE FIRE HOSES AND TALK WITH THE JUNIOR AND SENIOR FIREMEN. THE FIRE TRUCKS ARE A PART OF THE ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARADE IN TOWN. TOWN EVENTS ARE HELD AT THE FIRE STATION AND THE FIRE STATION MEETING ROOM AND KITCHEN ARE OPEN FOR USE BY THE COMMUNITY.

CONFERENCES ARE ATTENDED BY A SELECTED GROUP OF VOLUNTEERS WHO BRING BACK INFORMATION AND SHARE WITH THE OTHER FIREMEN. TRAINING AND EDUCATION EVENTS ARE ATTENDED THROUGHOUT THE YEAR AND THE ANNUAL AWARDS BANQUET IS HELD TO RECOGNIZE THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF THE MEMBERS, JUNIOR MEMBERS AND THE WORK DONE BY THE AUXILIARY. NEW UNIFORMS ARE GIVEN TO VARIOUS VOLUNTEERS AND NEW EQUIPMENT IS ASSIGNED.


THE FIRE DEPARTMENT HAS A WEBSITE THAT LIST THE FIRE BURNING LAWS DURING THE YEAR, LIST EVENTS THAT ARE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, PRINT AND DISTRIBUTE HANDOUTS ON THE VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT, ADVERTISE IN THE LOCAL PAPER, SEND THANK YOU AND CONTRIBUTION RECOGNITION ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS.
