OPERATES "THE SPACE STATION" WHICH IS A SPACE MUSEUM FOCUSED ON EDUCATING INDIVIDUALS ABOUT THE EXCITING HISTORY OF SPACE EXPLORATION. THIS "HANDS-ON" SPACE MUSEUM GIVES VISITORS A RARE OPPORTUNITY TO TOUCH AND HOLD SPACE FLOWN ARTIFACTS. VISITORS CAN TRY ON COSMONAUT SPACE GLOVES, WEAR PROTOTYPE SPACE HELMETS, SIT IN A SPACE CRAFT SEAT AND STOMP AROUND IN MOON DUST. THE MUSEUM ALSO CONTAINS ITEMS ORIGINAL FLIGHT EQUIPMENT TO INCLUDE A LUNAR MODULE ENGINE BELL,SPACE SUITS, PHOTOGRAPHS, AND OTHER SPACE ARTIFACTS. NASA ASTRONAUTS ATTEND THE EVENT TO EDUCATE PUBLIC ABOUT SPACE EXPLORATION.
PROGRAM EXPENDITURES AND EVENTS REPLATED TO THE APOLLO EXHIBIT AT THE USS HORNET MUSEUM WHICH EDUCATES THE GENERAL PUBLIC ABOUT THE ASPECTS OF MANNED SPACE FLIGHT AND THE INTERRELATIONSHIPS OF ALL SCIENCES. THE GEMINI BOILER PLATE TEST SPLASHDOWN MODULE IS ON LOAN AT THE USS HORNET. ASSETS ARE ALSO ON DISPLAY AT THE CHABOT SPACE SCIENCE CENTER.
