THE PRIMARY ACTIVITY OF THE NORTHERN VIRGINIA BMX PARENTS ASSOCIATION IS THE MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION OF A BMX FACILITY, LOCATED ON PUBLICLY ACCESSIBLE COUNTY PROPERTY, IN PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VIRGINIA. NEARLY 100% OF THE ASSOCIATION'S EXPENSES ARE RELATED TO ENSURING THE SAFETY OF THE RIDING SURFACE AND HOSTING RACES TO ENCOURAGE RIDERS OF ALL AGES TO ENGAGE IN COMPETITION, TO BOTH LEARN BIKING SKILLS AND SKILLS APPLICABLE TO DAILY LIFE (SUCH AS WINNING AND LOSING, BEING A GOOD TEAMMATE, HELPING OTHERS THAT ARE IN NEED, ETC.). THE MAJORITY OF OUR MAINTENANCE COSTS ARE TRACK AND RELATED FACILITY REPAIRS, AS WELL AS RACE EXPENSES (AWARDS AND THE LIKE) FOR NEARLY 400 REGULAR/RECURRING RIDERS AND SEVERAL THOUSAND THAT MAY VISIT FOR JUST ONE RACE IN A SEASON.
