(THE SOCIETY) IS DEDICATED TO IMPROVING THE HEALTH OF INFANTS, CHILDREN, AND ADOLESCENTS BY PROMOTING RESEARCH, TEACHING AND CLINICAL PRACTICE IN DEVELOPMENTAL AND BEHAVIORAL PEDIATRICS. COMPRISED OF MORE THAN 700 MEMBERS, THE SOCIETY STRIVES TO PROMOTE AN UNDERSTANDING OF THE SOCIAL, EDUCATIONAL, AND CULTURAL INFLUENCES ON CHILDREN.

THE SOCIETY SPONSORS AN ANNUAL MEETING EACH YEAR. THIS PROGRAM IS PLANNED TO MEET THE NEEDS OF PEDIATRICIANS, PEDIATRIC PSYCHOLOGISTS, NURSES, SOCIAL WORKERS AND OTHER HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS AND RESEARCHERS INTERESTED IN DEVELOPMENTAL AND BEHAVIORAL PEDIATRICS. A VARIETY OF EDUCATIONAL FORMATS WILL ENCOURAGE THE EXCHANGE OF NEW SCIENTIFIC AND CLINICAL INFORMATION AND SUPPORT THE INTERCHANGE OF OPINIONS REGARDING CARE AND MANAGEMENT ISSUES RELEVANT TO DEVELOPMENTAL AND BEHAVIORAL PEDIATRICS. SCIENTIFIC MATERIAL IS PRESENTED THROUGH SYMPOSIA, ORAL ABSTRACTS, SMALL GROUP SESSIONS DESIGNED FOR IN-DEPTH EXPLORATION OF SPECIFIC TOPICS, AND POSTER PRESENTATIONS.
THE SOCIETY PRODUCES A BIMONTHLY JOURNAL DEVOTED TO THE DEVELOPMENTAL AND PSYCHOSOCIAL ASPECTS OF PEDIATRIC HEALTH CARE.
